I wonder if ICS decided to just drop it after all the negative comments they got. I certainly hope not. Always good to have a less expensive alternative.

Classic vaporware. Always rumored far before it is realityand always way behind the promised deliveries. obviously we have all been waiting for a Garand AEG for a long long time and whether it is GnG or ICS (or both) that finally comes out, if it works and looks even marginally good it (they) will sell well. i hope the price points are decent although given that it will enjoy more limited sales than the submachne gun box magazine BB slingers everyone makes they will probably be more expensivesimply due to economy of scale.

Unfortunately, if they have a plastic stock version, that would be all I could afford....ICS may look at Marushins price and jup another $100 because it is skirmishable....

I believe vaporware is correct. I spoke with G&G today and they stated that they are still waiting for the factory just like everyone else. HUH??? Don't you think they would know if anyone does?

there is much behind the scenes drama on all things manufactured in China. corruption is rampant and in order for things to be built someones palms have to be greased. airsoft production in China believe it or not is technically illegal so all production is tenuous at all times and subject to raid, confiscation and even jail time for the company owners. if the right oficial is not "taken care of" companies disappear or go out of business. lets hope this is not going on for ICS or GnG as both are catering nicely in support of our small nich. in neither case is the brand the entity that actually produces the products but rather they are the sales and distiribution outlet for these items
that is the main reason often times pending offerings become vaporware.

I do believe both companies are in Taiwan. Have they relocated their manufacturing to the mainland?

GnG is still in Taiwan, but I think ICS is in China

taiwan manufacturers are far more reliable with their announcements and indeed I think GnG is indeed Taiwanese. ICS however I believe is a distributor/ sales outlet from the mainland.

strange, their FB page claims they are in Taiwan. They acknowledge the delay and say the molds are being worked on over the next couple of months. I guess that'll give me time to save for either the G&G or the ICS.

As you stated warbird, it seems slightly off in dimensions, but hey! A (hopefully...) skirmishable AEG m1 garand is a miracle as far as im concerned. EDIT: Looked at ICS's facebook, and they had a link to a blog featuring their new garand. baton.gunsmithbaton.com/e345195.htmlthe page isn't in english, but that can be remedied by google translate. Of more importance is a look at the magazine and the confirmation of the gun being in 6mm. It seems the magazine is quite bulky, bad for cartridge belts, but hopefully it will at least hold a decent amount of BB's

23 rounds sounds great. With the usual 2 to 3 round drops that means 20 ready rounds. It would appear the clips wont fit in the ammo belt pouches but should slide into cloth bandoleers without the inserts. I wonder how soon this gun will actually be available and at what price point delivered in the US. I also wonder how available spare clips will be and how much they will run?
yeah at long last some encouraging news in the Garand department. i cant wait for this offering.

This looks promising- if ICS continues to maintain their recent quality standards with the M1, then we will have a fine battle rifle.
I've found that I can hold my own with my M1903A3 using 30 round magazines (even against modern AEGs), so I fully expect this M1 to be perfectly skirmishable.

My only complaint is that the wood is way too bright, especially the hand guard. But who cares when we have a Garand? It's not like the color is impossible to fix.

I think you all are going to get a kick outa this, looks at ICS's facebook page, vote the obvious on the poll. I hope ICS can see that noone cares about the new "G33" but want to see the M1 Garand already!! www.facebook.com/ICSairsoftgun
