Ordered a Dot-44 tunic and service shirt from Gavin on the 29th of March, currently my package is sitting in Russia as of the 23rd of April..
Usually when I order things from HK/China or the like, it goes pretty well straight to the Canadian border.
Curious if anyone has had anything like this before? Seems to be taking a nice scenic route.
Thanks in advance!

Anyone? Also - Does anyone have suggestions on a shipping website to use for your order? I've been getting a lot of errors/issues with this current one: intmail.183.com.cn/item/trace/itemTraceAction.doNo other website that I normally use, gives me any information regarding my order.

That is odd. I have consistently heard Gavin Militaria is very slow with their shipping. I haven't heard of anyone not getting their stuff, it just takes a good while.

Maybe they are using bottom line shipping or something. Keep us posted on what happens.

One of the guys in my unit's HBTs just arrived. It took about two months for them to get here. He did have them tailor it though.

It's just about hit the 2 month mark for me since the order was placed, and I didn't get it custom tailored.
Mind you it's pure shipping delays at this point, but I have never heard of a package going through a completely different Countries customs.. If it went through the U.S Border, and then into the Canadian, I could understand.. but to from China, to Russia, and onto it's next spot which is anyone's guess...
Just really bizarre to me.

That's bizarre, I was thinking of trying Gavin's for a custom tunic but I'm thinking twice about it now.

Best of luck!
I'm not sure if I put the blame on Gavin themselves, their shipping method or the shipping company... or a little bit of each.

Yea that route is bizarre. I am not surprised on the shipping time though as I've always heard they take forever. When you bought your custom tailored tunic how did you give them the measurements? Did they ask you about it after you bought it or what. I am still trying to figure it out.

Sorry man, mine isn't custom tailored. You mentioned how your friends custom tailored tunic came in 2 months time. I mentioned how mine is near the 2 month mark, yet I did not custom tailor order it Seems like getting it tailor made, perhaps makes it quicker or some wild thing hah. Fired off a second email today (First one was shortly after the order was placed) seeing if they have any info regarding this. Hopefully that sheds some more light.

Update...
Took a few emails, but Gavin got back to me, in a nut shell the emails are as follows:
I asked them what website should I use to track my order. They asked if I placed my order. I told them yes and when, provided the tracking number I got. They told me to contact my post office. Knowing that my post office would know nothing, I just asked if any of this sounded weird to them.. They said a bit, probably got lost or stolen.
Told Gavin my post office said such, they offered to refund or ship it again.
Asking them to ship it again, hopefully they ship it perhaps a bit better and luck is on my side.
So far so great! Albeit slow, but suhweet!
Will update once things come together a bit more.

That makes me trust Gavin a bit more, I wouldn't expect them to re send something lost or stolen. But I guess they're better than I thought

I am just amazed, they didn't even bother looking into the package.. It's just ASSUMED as Lost or Stolen, as said by my Postal office worker...
Egg isn't hatched yet, so I'm not calling anything certain just yet.. But so far it's sounding like they are right ontop of this far better then I was expecting.

So guys and possible gals.. things take a turn for the most interesting...
Gavin has been pretty prompt and speedy with the emails, they asked what email did I send my money to. Unsure, it took some digging, as I paid just through the website.
Only later to find out, supposedly they were hacked last month and the email I sent money to was the fake. Now, I have to ask.. what the heck was shipped then? Could have been easily a fake package, sure. My order was not exactly last month, late March (27th/28th) late enough I suppose... On that note, it's past the 45 days Paypal allows you to file a claim, I am unsure if they will be co-operative in this situation or not. We'll find out.
In the end, possibly out $130 which isn't horrible, but somebody possibly has access to the information on the Paypal account.
For those wondering, the email that it was sent to was "fvbaoieq@163.com"
I would suggest anyone doing orders with Gavin, email them on the website to confirm where you are sending money with any further orders, continue to confirm until satisfied. Why they did not post a big warning on their website or something to notify people, is beyond me...

That really stinks! How did you pay with paypal? If you used a credit card just file a claim through the credit card company. I've heard paypal isn't very good with that type of stuff. I did that once directly through my credit card company and I got my money back with no problems.

I wish it was with Credit card, the funds were transferred over via bank. Hoping for the best. It could have been worse that's for sure, we all know how much we can sometimes blow on equipment/gear.

I ordered a bunch of stuff from Gavin recently, and the owner emailed me saying that his paypal got hacked. All the money I sent him was stolen.

Well the email I've been communicating with him from is not the same as the one you mentioned Forever_Kaos.
tommygunner, if you paid by credit card you can get your money back easily.

Gavin took paypal. I filed a claim and paypal refunded my money. It's ok. Just a lot of these Chinese websites are apparently being hacked.
