Hello Everyone,
I am trying to finalize our next event and I've been running into scheduling conflicts. The date that is up for poll is for the Saturday of the Thanksgiving Weekend (11/24/12). I know this may be tough for some, but at the same time it may work for those who could make the date because of the long weekend.
This would be a single day event with the option of camping out on Friday if you so choose. The theme of the event is still up in the air but I'm hopeful that this event will be the replacement game for the rain shortened "Operation Overlord" game this past June.
So please keep in mind that this is a single yes or no poll for that specific date and the poll will only be open for 10 days as I want to get this thing going asap.
Thank you all for your cooperation,
Migs

Any Idea on the projected per person cost? The event will carry the same price tag as Operation overlord. If you pre-pay via paypal, (there will be a cut off date) the cost will be $45.00. At the field price is $60.00 If you were one of the players who attended (and paid) for Operation Overlord, there is no fee as a field credit was issued. I've provide a list in the following thread of those who qualify. All others must be charged accordingly. ww2aa.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=northeasternus&action=display&thread=9653All other details will be forthcoming once I have a firm date in a new event thread.

Dates are pretty flex for us, but as always we prefer multi day events with some night fighting.

Dates are pretty flex for us, but as always we prefer multi day events with some night fighting. I have to keep the event a one day event as was Op. Overlord. But anyone who shows for Friday night camping can partake in some night fighting. But first things first as I have to make sure we have enough for this Date. Thanks JP and nice to have you back from the high seas!!

Only two days left on the poll. Let's get the ball rolling and cast your vote. We need to get a better idea if this date is worth booking.
We have 28 players on the replacement paid list and we probably had 5 or so that showed up in the rain and were not charged that day. Point is, I would hope that we would get around 25 - 30 votes to give me an idea of where we stand with this.
Also, feel free to post your opinion here, maybe that will get things rolling.
Hope to hear from everyone,
Migs

Votes were a little slim on both the ya and nay side. Not sure if it is the actual date causing the disinterest or just plain WW2 Airsoft fatigue (been there done that, need something new). Either way, discussion would help stir this in the right direction. Come on guys, summer is over, time to plan for some events

I don't know if it's that people are board (no one can be board of ww2 airsoft for long ), but Thanksgiving weekend might be a problem for people who are traveling. I'd go either way (voted yes) I don't usually go anywhere besides on actual Thanksgiving day anyways

I would try my best to come, but to travel from Michigan to Connecticut is EXPENSIVE. It would have to be a 50-60 player 24 hour event for me to travel that far. If I lived on the other side of lake Eerie I would be over there in a flash.

I'm glad to see some fresh comments here. Hopefully more will come. I do realize that the date is questionable, but I'm trying my best to avoid conflicts for myself and some of our core players that I've been in touch with in regards to availability.
What I am working on right now is the actual event theme and game play scenarios. I will be posting a new event thread in the next couple of days with all the details. The date will be a TBD but I'm hopeful it will still get the juices and discussions flowing so we'll have a new event in place very soon.
Stay tuned, Migs

Would this be a possible redo of the D-day gameplay as well? As for a large 24hr game, I would be all in for that!

I'm really hoping this comes to pass... would be my first (but I'm sure not my last) WWII airsoft event. Already trying to locate all my kit in their various boxes.
