The 5 of us will be there either dates. Will definitely want to get some night fighting in for Friday night. Hopefully we can get enough people to come Friday to get some good skirmishes for the night. I would even bring the search light to make it more appealing in planning some scenarios.

i really appreciate the links for the rucks. i was thinking a ruck to begin with. even the largest bread bag wouldnt be big enough for the smallest air bottle. i also dont want to lug all the air bottles. they dont call it a crew served weapon for nothing. problem is i have no one else coming out with me, yet. the mg-42's engine is very gas efficient. at a ratio of 1.1 psi per bb. so a 72 cu 3000 psi tank will be enough for just 1 tin's worth of bb's. i currently only have 2 tanks like that, a 92 cu 4500 psi and a 114 cu 3000 psi tank that i have to test its shot count. i am also looking to get more tanks in time for this event. it will be a heavy load to move this around.
but even with all those bottles. the mg-42 could run at a most of 30 minutes straight. since my poly drum mag can be opened while still feeding. it is also suggest i get the AA tripod for it since the bottom of the engine is exposed and its far cheaper then the ground tripod.
if anyone else has suggestions and/or help to get the right kit set up please PM me, since i will start purchasing kit at the end of oct.

If they will fit Id say try and put them in the gas mask canister and drill a hole for the tube in the top of the can. Its definitely the best looking alternative. You can use a rucksack to carry the spare bottles and either find someone to carry the bag for you or leave it at your CP and just go back to it when needed. The field isnt big enough that you will really have to worry about getting too far away from your extra supply of tanks.

As for that MG42 of yours, I'm sure you could find some guys to carry some spare tanks for you, especially with all the firepower you can dish out with it! ;D

there is no airsoft mg-42 be it a custom aeg version or a air gun version can get the cyclic rate of the real one. i have seen a shoei go 1100. but its reliability drops significantly. such as it can't even dispense 1 tin's worth of ammo before a jam or it craps out. its just so over tweaked to shoot 300 feet at 1100 RPM that it doesnt survive. that is why i went a more of a longevity route. it currently shoots at a safe 700. but if i convert the internal parts to all steel instead of brass the ROF is likely to get a boost.

What if im bringing someone who is currently not a member of the forum? would they need to register with the forum and get a forum name first? It would be not be a bad idea to do that, but not imperative. If they're just coming as your guest and don't want to bother with our forum, just put down "Guest" as their call sign name. But they must fill out all the other information. Thanks, Migs

another quick question, I'm doing my 101st AB BAR gunner impression but I'm not sure if I should go with Private chevrons or Corporal. No personal preference here but just wondering what would be better for a BAR gunner in Market Garden.

Well....... just another question, (although a follow up may be in order) I recently convinced my brother in going, as long as he's not busy that day. Although I have an almost complete 101st Airborne impression (BAR) for me, and an almost complete 1st Infantry division impression (Thompson) reserved for my friend, I currently only have an old m43 jacket for him to be US infantry.
I do have an old Brodie helmet, an Ike jacket and a British canteen. Along with some brown pants, boots and ankle wraps. I was thinking of fitting him with a British Infantry kit, although it would be sparse. I have no web gear besides the canteen, a belt, and a small belt pouch that I got my m43 shovel in (currently using a correct shovel cover, for my 1st Div kit). I have tried on the inpromptu impression and it does look convincing from a distance, but is definitely not stitch-knot-see thread worthy!
My other concern is his weapon. I have a springer m14 he could use but I might as well use it as a baseball bat, because pistols shoot straighter than it! I would like to purchase a Bar-10 for him to use but I do not want to convert it to a Lee Enfield, as I plan on converting it to a M1903 for use with my U.S. WW1 impression and possibly an early WW2 Marine Impression.
So basically this British Impression will only be a stop gap for him to use at this event, as long as he is able to attend (which he will know before the Nov 10 deadline). I would much rather outfit him with a US Infantry kit, but i don't have the extra gear or money to outfit him in time.

I'll be at this one for sure! Probably bringing my friend with me who has a British paratrooper kit.
Anyone else doing British para at this event or just 101st and 82nd US Airborne?

PM me some pictures if you can of your friends impression or lack there of and I'll let you know. The other option is he can go as Dutch Resistance. That would be easier to do an impression of. Just a thought.

Thats what I was originally thinking untill i remembered the brodie helmet and ike jacket. But would it be ok for him to field a plain Bar-10 with iron sights?

Well, just rethinking my plan of action and am now thinking of purchasing a mostly complete 2nd rangers impression that is of sale in the market boards. If I can get ahold of the seller that is! (for once) for now the impromptu Brit uniform is only a backup, as I will be tossing together an aeg m1 for him to use. Alotta work trying to outfit two other people and yourself!

I know what you mean, one of the first reenactments I went to I had to spend alot of time (and my money) to equiped one of my friends. I don't think I could have been bothered with two

On the whole MG42 topic, I would be happy assisting with the air canisters, I have a gas mask canister so I might as well make use of it!

I'm sorry I can't make this one. It really has to be a 24 hour event for me to come or else just a few hour of fighting doesn't cut driving 4 days to get there and back.

This is almost a 24 hour event! if you show up friday night there will be fighting, and it ends saturday afternoon. I don't really think driving from Michigan will take you 4 days either... By the way, if your still planning on building that Springfield I'm going to build one in the next couple weeks and I started a guide for it, same way I built my kar98k.

We still need a third man to complete the requirements of a MG crew, no? Or will 2 be allowed? But primarily: I am not sure your canisters will hold my sized air bottles. They are big. I have to get them measured and post them up.

Special Announcement This event will be an Airsoft only event. There will be NO blank fire weapons allowed. Due to recent complaints from the property's neighbors and the Police Dept's awareness of the situation. GZA has asked me to suspend all blank fire weapons until further notice. As this may disappoint some, please keep in mind that we are guests at the field and we need to respect the owners wishes. Exploding grenades are still allowed and are not an issue. Thank you all for your cooperation. Migs
