Event Details:
Cost: $20.00
German forces will have their HQ at the Town and they will also occupy the base on Bunker Hill Their HQ will serve as their fallback point as well as their aide station for re-spawns. Their objective is to defend two points that serve as bridges against allied attacks. The bridges will be the located as follows: The small footbridge leading out of the town into the woods will be designated as the "Bridge at Son"
. The second bridge will be a mock up bridge on the road leading up to Bunker Hill. This bridge will be designated the "Bridge at Best". This will force the Germans to split their forces to repel the Allied invaders.
The 101st Airborne and their Allies will be dropped into the field of play in a daytime drop. The drop will be in the woods at a location only the CO's will know. After the drop, with the help of the Dutch Resistance, paratroopers will go to their rally point, organize their forces and begin their mission. Their mission will be to attack these two bridge positions, capture and hold them. But more importantly, they must keep the road (Highway69) from the bridges to the town of Arnhem open. This road is infamously known as "Hell's Highway". German forces will do their best to capture the Highway and prevent it from being the main artery for the British XXX Corps Armour. Contol of bridges and points along the road will be marked by colored caps on poles. Colored cap on pole = German control. Cap off = Allied control. Points to be assessed for each point that is controlled. Their will also be mini scenario missions through the day worth points. Winning the day will require strategic control of points awarded in the final outcome of the day.
Will the 101st be able to hold or will the Germans force the invaders to find a new route into Germany? Only our event will answer this question.
Basic Schedule
Saturday 16:00 : All are welcomed to stop by the field and "dig in" for the event or just help out with field set up and construction. Camping will be allowed. Some night skirmishes can be had however points will not be allotted for official game, but great warm ups and meet and greet time.
Sunday Arrivals may start anytime after 0700 hours, but everyone should plan on being at the field no later than 0900 hours.
0930 hours: Safety and Event Rules briefings. You will be briefed on our rules of engagement, what is a hit and how we will use our medic/respawn scenarios for this event. Safety and sportsmanship requirements/expectations. Nothing to complicated, just need everyone on the same page.
