Attention all Colorado WWII airsofters!!!!!!
There are too few of us here. I have been trying to put together a unit for almost 2 YEARS now and so far I have only recruited 11, 12 and one 26 year old. I am the only one (besides the 26 year old) that cares about WWII reinacting and bringing it back to life.
So I have a proposition for you, all of us should get together and form a unit. Interested?

I recommend you put your impression together and attend local airsoft games fully outfitted in your WW2 gear. Invite other interested Colorado players to the event you're attending and wheteher they show up or not there is no doubt the players who find your impression cool will migrate over and start up a conversation. Keep doing it and eventually I almost guarantee you, you will have recruited a group of like minded players

A simple equation. (use only when conveying advice the traditional way doesn't seem entirely effective).
Impression(s) + event(s) + member(s)= A unit
no impression(s) + no event(s) + no member(s) =/= unit

Oh well when you get better feel free to do so. You must have cool parents, mine always take away my computer when I'm grounded instead of taking away my military stuff and not letting me use a camera.

I'm up in Golden and am working on having some skirmishes up here. We have about an acre and a half, but I'm gonna talk with my neigbors and see if the care if we use all of our combined yards. Only problem is there's little cover. I'll post pics later, but let me know if you'd be interested.

Have you tried www.coloradoairsoft.org/ ? You just sign up to that forum, and post a thread to see if anyone is interested.

Thanks for pimpin us Medic!
Elder90 is on that board already. WWII isn't big out here yet, but we do have some games, typically 1-2 per year that have a WWII theme. However the obsession with forming a unit puts many players off out here, and the focus should be to get people interested in it, and then progress from there, eventually leading to teams and units.

Well, I guess it's no use. I feel sorry for you, maybe as time progresses, the little kids in your former unit, mature and want to preserve history. And maybe they'll become the World of Warcraft kiddies. So, I think since no-one wants to, you should probably wait.

Don't get me wrong. WWII Airsoft is alive and well in Colorado, but just has alot of room to grow, and will eventually get there. Somethings just take time and getting some of the players out of the mindset that Airsoft needs to be like Call of Duty 4 takes time.

For the love of god....PLEASE DO NOT PLAY IN A PUBLIC PLACE (AKA City Parks, neighborhoods). Actions like these are what are endangering our playing fields (and why we are fighting to keep rampart range open).
Elder90, I understand your wanting to play airsoft, and form your unit. I've seen threads both here and on COASG about your struggles and that you don't think that players want to be in a group with someone as young as you, or that they don’t respect you. Your partly correct. Your not going to gain the respect of the veterans in Colorado quickly when your judgments reflect immaturity. If you want to successfully gain the respect of other members, get the support from the "old salts" in Colorado start making more grown up choices, and moving away from poor ones such as playing in backyards and city parks.
This is good advice for any of you younger players. Act like an adult and you will be treated and respected as one. Do not expect to show up on the field and be instantly respected (but you should also not expect everyone to be a jerk to you). Respect is something that is earned, not given.

I don't believe hellrazor's (very very good) advice is limited only to playing in public games. You have yet to mature in a lot of ways. I still think you should drop the idea of forming a unit for now and focus on yourself first. Get a quality impression together, get some experience in the field, educate yourself more, THEN start kicking around the idea of getting a unit together. I don't know how you think you have the capability to sucessfully guide others when you seem to struggle greatly with it yourself. Baby steps, baby steps.

I just moved down to CO about a month ago and while my attendance at an airsoft game is rare, I would still like to get to a WWII themed event. That being said however I do not have the dedication to help with putting together a unit or considering myself part of one. I don't even own a WWII airsoft weapon anymore nor do I have plans on purchasing one anytime soon. Let me know how things go in your search to put together a unit and if any events arise. I guess I could play a medic since that's all I will have down here when i get my stuff sent to me.

Haha Hey Elder90, 1.) all my neigbors have been notified and don't care, 2.) the area is kind of encapsulated, 3.) one of my best friends is my neigbor and he's a cop nothing to worry about ! Let me know if this changes your mind ! I could use a fellow wwII airsofter.
