Well guys, 600 rounds in, my Garand has had its first issue. Surprisingly, Part 45 has held up well. The problem is that the firing pin which activates the firing valve keeps coming out of its track. This makes the gun blow back, but not fire. Is there a way to put a thin strip of something in there to keep it in its spot?

Well, I am not sure who to direct you to unfortunately, 2nd Bat I can imagine has taken them down to every nut and bolt, I think he is your best bet!

Indeed i have stripped them down to the most elemental pieces. The complexity of design is quite remarkable. (especially for a gas powered gun). They simply tried to do too much. (power bbs, gas blowback with a large bolt and charging handle, and eject a clip) all very cool WHEN it all works. The result is a never ending litiny of potentil failure points. I can absolutely assure you that when and IF you fix the firing pin it will quickly be replaced with another unpredictable failure point. These guns from the first shot are eating their young.
Cut your emotional and financial losses and turn it into the static wall prop 95% of them quickly become. Save your money and buy an ICS, the eventual GnG or build your own M14 conversion. The only reason any of these ever existed and were sold was because there weren't any other options available to folks. Now there are and there is no longer any need for this product in the world of airsoft skirmishing. This was a product conceived in brilliance and executed in discrace.

I can solve the problem, but I need to see the problem spot. The picture is not good. 2nd Bat is right partly, this gun consumes a lot of time and money to get it in order. But it is possible, my marushin garand works very well so far. If you are ready to spend time and money you can do it if not just buy ICS garand. Marushin garand mechanism is not very coplicated but it is not intended for powerful green or other gas.

Fixed!!! ;D It turned out the hammer was striking the valve too high because the hammer was out of place. A quick reseating of the hammer and it's all good. What's that channel for anyway?
