This has been something that has been intriguing me for quite awhile now. What clothing did Glider Troops wear, specifically on Operation Neptune? Would they be dressed as normal infantry, or more like their paratroop brethren? I've tried to find information pertaining to this and the only think I was able to pull up was that for Operation Neptune glider troops wore the standard type II service shoe with the 1938 dismounted leggings, but were re-issued with the jump boots for Operation Dragoon and on-ward, but I can't find anything pertaining to uniform, helmets, field gear, etc. If anyone has any information pertaining to this, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you.

Some troops wore the same thing as regular infantry, some glider infantry wore what regular airborne wore. So if they wore what infantry would wear it would be m37 wool trousers, wool service shirt, m1941, leggings and service shoes. If its airborne either m43's or m42's with jump boots.

Glider troops wore the same uniforms as leg infantry, with the exception of the jump boots in later operations. It would be possible for a glider man to get his hands on a pair of M42s, but they were NOT standard. For an Operation Neptune impression, get a M41 jacket, M37 wool trousers and shirt, cartridge belt, haversack, and service shoes and leggings.
