I would love to see an Italian/Mediterranean theater events out here in my area. The summers in the Mid-West would be perfect for HBT's that both sided used in the front. Also since Ohio or nearby state is no North Africa,it would give an opportunity to use German tropical gear, which was used in the Mediterranean front in the war by 1943.Also Hiki Shop has a new line of WW2 Italian gear/uniforms and I believe there are a few Italian airsoft guns if I'm correct. The usual terrain of the Mid-West is suitable enough for an Italian setting.Italian camo would fit right in with this event for those who want to feel more authentic. How about it?I believe it would be a good style of event.

The only italian gun I can think of that is out is the m38 and there aren't spare mags that i know of. you'd be better with africa corps or crete invasion FJ

Crete would be an interesting scenario. Fallschirmjaeger and (I think it was) 5th Gebirgsjaeger vs. Brits/New Zealanders. You've still got some weapons issues if you want to be authentic. No SMLE's and no MG-34s, but at least there are Kar98s, MP40's and ZB26's that can stand in for BRENs.
An Italian scenario with the Italians using Kar98s wouldn't be to far off the mark. And why the ***** do they make AEG's but not make spare mags for tem?

Crete sounds like a good scenario.I too would love a North Africa event but don't know how much tropical UK stuff is available.Plus there needs to be a large sandy area for that too.Either way both would make good events.Totally agree with the lack of spare mags for AEG's

What Price Glory has Brit tropical uniforms. The webgear and such is all the same, I think.
Algeria and Tunisia, I understand, is rocky, brushy and mountainous, as opposed to sand desert, which is what you find in Egypt and Libya.

Sounds good.I started on my Heer tropical impression but never finished it.If such an event arises I will no doubt get back to it.Would starting some tropical Heer/UK airsoft units be a good start?

We ran an italian front scenario here in Norway last year. But it wasn't more than that. Germans vs US.

We need more events with people. Simply stated.

In California the Regiment typically themed their events in the MTO as their terrain supported that theater. The challenge for North Africa or the MTO is airsoft weapons simply don't provide adequate range other than during night ops. When your opposition is visible well beyond engagement ranges the suspension of belief is just too great for airsoft to be a good medium. These are areas where blankfire and lazer hits are more effectively used.

we use to recreate Anzio and Sicily down here in Chile, as they´re geographically and climate similar (I studied in Italy a few years back)... let me draw some pics about the Fallshrimjaeger v/s Brits+Big Red One to share
