Several of the neighbor kids and their dads who recently participated in my post Thanksgiving event "Losheim Gap" asked if we could throw together a post Christmas event up in the snow. We recently have experienced an exceptionally heavy snowfall in the lower foothills and secured a place to play.
Since this event won't be a community sponsored event it is open to others. The cost is $15.00 if you have all your own gear (impression and period correct airsoft weapon). I will allow bolt action modern airsoft weapons if wrapped in burlap and M14s in wood or wood appearing stocks but no other weapon exceptions. Impressions must be US or German. Overwrites are fine.
For players needing impressions and weapons the cost is $65.00. This will be a small last minute one day event and we are expecting under 20 people? We are departing from Timberline in Sammamish at 8:00 am. PM me for more info!

A few challenges getting up to the venue. (Traffic up to the pass was severely backed up due to heavy snow and holiday travel) but a great time. Turnout was less than expected but excellent for a quickly thrown together event. We had eight US players and eleven Germans.

I've been to games where we were outnumbered; it was fun and different. 2nd Bat, were there any pictures taken? Sounds like a fun day. I always like winter games despite the difficulties with them.

I've got pictures from both Loshiem and Manhay. I will get them formatted so I can get them off to Dracul to post. The snow was fairly deep and there were avalanche warnings for anywhere with sloped ground so all the battles were close in,simple movement to contact, static defenses with multiple regens for the attackers. Lots of action until we were all too wet or cold to continue.
Guns all performed well considering the cold temperatures. no gas guns in use! Batteries pretty much all held up. Lots of springers in use.

The annual Losheim event is held with community authority in our 12 acre common area. It is restricted to residence of our neighborhood association. Usually one of the community kids is using it as a school project. (Living history). The winter event we just did was up in Snoqualmie Pass on private land one of the neighbors who played owns.

We've got a lack of available space down here, particularly with everyone so sensitive about airsoft guns and liability issues. Wish I knew someone with a ranch, but I don't.

For big events I have access to 100 acres of mixed woods and Meadows with low terrain relief and an extensive trail net throughout. It is in ROY which is just outside Ft Lewis so sometimes you can hear the artillery range or MG range off in the distance which is real cool. They charge $750.00 for the weekend and insurance runs another $500.00 to $700.00 so it only makes sense if you get good turnout.
It is ideal for larger weekend events and facilitates vehicles as it has a nice road net. 30% of it got logged three years ago but that ridgeline area is now starting to grow back in which is nice. As it is there is a good mix of open areas and dense woods. Other than the heat of Summer pyro, flares, simulated explosions and blankfire are okay.
