This is film made under the supervison of the Netherlands film board but it is not a documentary. It is a story primarily about the underground in the vicinity of the Scheld Estuary. A vital area held by the Germans that prevented the allies from using the liberated Port of Antwerp. The period piece is extremely well done with obviously accurate location shots, vehicles, costumes uniforms and authentic well done battle scenes. Throughout there is a somber sephia tone and relatable cast. The story line borders on incredible but manages to not tip over the edge. I enjoyed the movie a great deal.

I also saw this movie and enjoyed it a great deal. The costume master and armorer did their jobs very well, especially considering the somewhat limited budget I assume they had to work with. The Dutch perspective is not one we see often here in the US, so it was nice and refreshing to see it on Netflix.

I am guessing they had active support from the reenacting and military vehicle clubs as the vehicles and uniforms were fabulous. The location shots were also excellent as no doubt the scenes were shot on location. The underground throughout Europe contributed enormously to the allied victory and often at great cost to the civilian populace. The Germans were notoriously brutal in their treatment of civilians and this is something along with the better known genicide against Jews, Gypsies and mentally limited populations. Horrible, horrible conduct that should not be forgetten or forgiven.
