Here's an off-beat action movie set during WWII in Finland. If you like John Wicke movies, you'll probably like this. Lots of action, mostly impossible of course, and bad guys dispatched left and right in creative ways. The story line; it's 1944. Finland negotiated peace with Russia, including expelling German forces. A small group of SS troops is retreating across Lapland, leaving scorched earth behind it, and taking a half dozen abducted women with them. The main character is a Finnish commando who's left the war and gone north to prospect for gold. He's made a big strike and he's heading south to cash in his gold, when he runs into the SS. The SS leader steals his gold and leaves him for dead. Big mistake. As one of the kidnapped women says, "He's not immortal. He just refuses to die." There's clips on Youtube, and the full movie (in English) is available to rent through Youtube. www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_C2tWmBWxA

The Finns are avid WW2 reenactors. I sold easily 2 dozen M1 Garand conversions to Finns who are in a group that does US/ German rather than Finn/ Soviet which struck me as odd. Their reasoning is US/ GERMAN is what's depicted in the movies. I went to Finland with a Porsche project and also a Fisker event. (Both have factories there). While there I met in person some of my customers who kept saying that I sound just like Tom Hanks. Their English was thickly accented but quite good as for Finns under 40 it's their primary language. A beautiful country with super nice people.
