If anyone has ANY plans for tanks or armored vehicles (not the real ones more like made out of wood and stuff similar to some of the more realistic paintball tanks out there). I would very much apreciate them. Also do any of you know of any Opel Blitz that are still in existance??? I cannot find one. If you know of one please tell me about this as well.

Until WW2 airsoft events reach a much larger scale than they are at now, we have no need for vehicles.
Lots of opel Blitz trucks left, they run 15 to $20k

It is difficult to incorporate vehicles into an airsoft game so that they can be used effectively and safely, but having them around at an event sure does add a lot of ambiance.

If I had a million dollars... *grins evilly* In the mean time, look around for a 1935-39 Ford trucks. Those were used in the German forces as troop transports as well (The ones with the flat-decks..not a pick-up :S) Another option is to go kooblekar www.kooblekar.com/ <--If your american an' have 10-15 to blow on a sleek repro, by all means do it!

Most are extremely hokey but there have been a few that are quite well done. I personally think they add a lot to the game differentiating it from traditional airsoft and paintball. We had actual armored vehicles at a large local airsoft event and it really made it a different experience. They were obviously limited to roads and drove much slower then they were capable of but they had an intimidating effect to put it mildly. For many players there presence never actually had a direct effect while for others (The AT gunners at the road blocks0 really experienced the effect. Everyone said the sound of tracked vehicles evenin the distance was very cool.
I got to drive one and be a gunner in one from time to time which was very cool.

2ndBat, I have seen photos from PacNW reenactor groups as well as some California groups that have a T34 (?) remade into a Tiger tanks- have you seen this AFV? That would be awesome to fight against! www.deutschlandregt.com/main.shtm-go to 'gallery' Oct 2004 www.2ndarmored.com/images/Our%20Photos/2005_CR_Jan_event/jan_cr40.htmYou may not have see nthis tank, but if you hear about them bringing it yoru way for an event let me know! That may be the closest I ever get to a Tiger!....even if its really a Russian tank underneath -G

A friend of mine owns a Kettenkrad (half track with motorcycle front end) And agreed to bring it to our next game hear in the Northwest or just let me borrow it. I've driven it before, great fun. It has a mount for a MG-34.

I think rolling actual vehicles or authentic facimiles adds a lot to our type of play. Even authentic looking AT guns or artillery batteries would be a positive step and they wouldn't be that hard to fabricate or move around. german 88 anyone? Even a Pak 40 would be cool. Position it with camo netting and you have an attack objective!

Mmmm...kettenkrad. Once upon a time I wanted to pick up a ol' one that needs rebuild...but they are so hard to find, expecially with a unaltered chassis. Farmers an' weldin' machines never mix.

Mauser98k: It wouldn't require altering, He has a dummy (solid reciever) Mg-34 mounted on it that can just be un-clipped and the airsoft version put in its place. The only problem is he told me it is leaking a ton of oil (rear main seal, Opel 4 cyl engine).

If someone could alter a golf cart into a tank like thing I believe that would be the most practicle way to simulate a tank. You wouldn't have to worry about staying on a road or anything. It would not have the size, look, or intimidation factor that a real tank would, but I have played in a game with one running around and it was awsome! After the first match everyone treated it like it was a real tank. I gotta admit though I was laughing my ass off when I saw my second squad running away from it.

You could probably build a Hetzer SP around a golf cart and not have the size be too distracting (A lot of over hang) They were turretless and based on a Czech T-38 which was a very small tank. The main MG was mounted toward the rear area so it might make sense. It would mostly be something folks could hide behind while it was moving. You have to be somewhat careful about the electric fumes associated with a golf cart when enclosed but nothing like a gasoline engine.
Weight would have to be minimized so the golf cart could handle it and still perform reasonably and mobility would be quite limited (unlike a rear tank) which is probably good from a safety perspective. Fiberglass over styrofoam I would guess. A single one wouldn't be too cool but three of them working in harmony. Now you're talking!

Im gonna go with 2nd Bat idea, making a fake battery or Flak gun would be a cool objective to reach and making them actual size with PVC pipe wouldnt cost very much either. hmmm that does give me an Idea. can we bring a non operating actual size PVC Flak gun to an event? 2nd ranger

hey' guy's a lot of really good and sound idea's here on this subject" i know that I'm the new guy but here' my two' cent's. i had played paint ball for many years' i was part of a team back in the day. who played pro-ball we played all over and i have played on Fields with real helicopters apc's jeeps' and also home maid stuff as well. and it helps a lot to set the mood of the game . i work with plastic all the time in the props "big and small" that i do for my self. and to make a full scale fake battery or Flak gun is not hard and would not . cost a lot for materials. it would just take some time which is really the big thing' if we pare off into groups by were we live' let's say just for now N.Y N.J .C.T each state if' enough' members' pick a prop lets say' N.Y--- N.J pick a U.S tank". and C.T picks a Flak gun each group work's on there own project but since we are all one big group we help out with info on were to get or make plans and find part's. a real group thing' and it gets done but we all can enjoy it at a game or at any event that we are doing"". but the main point is if we as a group pick one thing and all split the work we can do a lot more a lot quicker' and it will look a lot better'. the only thing is were to store thing's Even if in is made to come apart". the parts have to be put some-were' that is relay the only big head ache"". also just so you guys know i know that it will still be work but i know it can be done . i can speak for Shadow and myself as we both have backgrounds in aviation and engineering" it can be done but it will take work and commitment by all. just my two cent's. I sounded pretty elitist didn't I? Moving forward we do want to represent our best efforts to the casual visitor don't we... vehicles and props can add a lot to an event but in the spirit of what we're attempting it's important that we do them well.

A tank, vehicle,or artillery Prop would be great, for a search and destroy gameplay. And greater realism. I personely think a artillery piece would be easier to duplicate, and transport. I have seen dummy thermite grenades like the Rangers used to disable the guns on top of Pointe Du Hoc on the internet. The concept of Tanks, vehicles, and Trucks is very Interesting and exciting and should be pursued and will expand our gameplay Without a doubt. The scenario ideas would almost endless. ;D
