Hence Movie Competition there will be a deadline TBA when we get enough applicants for the competition. I have been in 2 movie comp, they usually have some sort of ending point, you know so noone copies others ideas. Like the rules say you may ask other units for help if you want but prepare to do that unit the same favor.

Wow a chance to make a WW2 movie but dang not any local WW2 players, that alright Ill simply as the blank reenactor groups the 70th Tank battalion and the 2nd Panzer (both based in Montgomery and Sugar Grove 5 min from my house) if they feel like making a movie, oh and Ill ask them to bring there toys ( Tanks and artillery is really cool up close)
Seriously Im gonna see if there up to it, I doubt it though because of the enormouse amount of time required to get both untis together and the fact that the effort is not worth the no budget film. But it would be cool (looks into space and sighs)

Tommygunner~ It doesnt have to be some large motion picture! A short film, or a film with a hidden enemy. (in case you cant get anyone to play that part)...

...what the town or the film contest? Cary- there are groups that have filmed for a week straight and only got an hour outta their film... plus an hour is almost a full length feature.

I have been contemplating shooting a short film titled "What if reenactors found themselves in actual combat" I have some thoughts that I think would be incredibly funny but I'm afraid would not be appreciated by many hard core reenactors
Think how twisted it would be.
Sample scene:
Shots ring out and a soldier goes down.
The wounded soldiers shouts for a medic and lays wreathing in pain with severe arterial bleeding from his wounded thigh. A reenactor "soldier" runs up with pristine gear, garrison pressed, heavily starched wools. His face is washed and hands perfectly clean and assures the wounded man that a medic is on the way. Instead of applying presure to the wound he starts commenting on the guys gear. "Wow, nice Avery, original, issue thompson pouch, is it dated?" He examines the pouch more closely and declares "Oh my God it has the button tab, do you know how rare that is?" The wounded soldier look incredulously at the reenactor. He looks under the flap for the markings. "Woah 1943, awesome Khaki color, that's weird though because by 43 they were starting to do them in the OD, sometimes a matched blend of both especially around the seams..." The wounded GI interupts him and asks him to apply sulfa powder and a bandage. The reenactor replies. "Can I ask you something? how come you had a Thompson pouch even though you don't have a Thompson? Was that done very often? I had been looking for photographic evidence..." The wounded soldiers screams "My leg, my leg, I don't want to die." The reenactor glances at the red hose of blood flowing from his leg. "Oh God thats awful...those are awesome rigger patched M43 trousers, that hole is going to be tough to patch." He examines the tear caused by the bullet ignoring the pleas for help and exaggerated flow of blood. "Actually with the blood stains and tear they might have some providence that would make them worth quite a bit more..." "My God man can you help me" the wounded GI pleads. "Sure I can" he replies eagerly, here, your mussette is attached all wrong and no one ever wore their bayonet on that side of their web belt." He starts in adjusting it all as the GI continues to writh in pain suddenly distracted he pauses what he's doing and says in disbelief. "Wait a minute, those non capped boots weren't issued until the 23rd of May and didn't get out to the field troops in the 375th Regiment until August the 13th, well...except 1st Battalion who got them the previous Tuesday because their XO knew someone back at G-4." How did you get them so soon in the war?" Are you with Charlie Company? Capt Hendricks was your Co until he got replaced by 1st Lt Coons..he of course later gets wounded by artillery in the Hurtegan Forest campaign but that's not important now."
The GI squeazes his arms and pleads for help. Blood spirting onto the reenactors resplendent set up. "Woah, easy bud you're making a mess of my impression and I just got them in from ATF. My size is tough cause they typically don't do them in XXXL" I had to wait 57 days to get them and then had to send them back because the shade was all wrong."
"Do you have a carlisle bandage in your first aid pouch?" The soldiers nods. "You do, really that's sooooooo cool. I always just stuff mine with an altoid tin to fill it out but don't tell my squad leader. He pulls it from the wounded GIs first aid pouch. "Woah look at that tin...still sealed and never opened. Surprising that it's still the non OD version by this phase of the war... "
Throughout the soldier is turning more and more ashen and the blood goes from a steady stream to a trickle. The reeanctor continues to babble with unwavering authority about minutia as the GI slowly dies. He glances at the no longer bleeding leg and declares. "See, I knew if I waited long enough the bleeding would stop and I wouldn't have to destroy this awesome piece of history" He glances at the Carlisle bandage tin blows on it and sticks it in his pocket.
A Chaplain arrives, too late and angrily asks the reenactor why he didn't start first aid. The reeanctor replies he wasn't trained for such things but he's an expert on the nomenclature of the gear of the time. He then starts critiquing the Chaplains stuff. The Chaplain loses it, punches him and knocks him out. When he comes to he looks at the body beside him and mumbles groggily. "I guess you wouldn't mind if I took some of your stuff.....Hey why would you have an M2 carbine bayonet when your issued rifle was a Garand?" Well I guess we'll never know but I can't wait to post that on the forum it was obviously done but the guys are never going to believe me..."
He continues to ramble to himself. The soldiers around him remain oblivious and trudge past him as the camera fades away.

;D That is outstanding!! I have been a weapons and gear collector and then airsofter for years, but you have made good clean fun of one of the main reasons I have stayed away from re-enacting. Thanks for the humor.
