Well, Dog Company finally got out in the feild, while there were only 6 of us, we still had an AWESOME time. It turned out to be the PERFECT time of year for the color of our m42 jump uniforms, as soon as we lay down on the dead leaves, we became invisible. All the other airsofter's really dug the WW2 look too, very encouraging, Beautiful weather too! the rest of the pictures are in the photo bucket. here s10.photobucket.com/albums/a102/ww2aa/504%202006/?sc=1&addtype=local-Gordak

Why oh why do you always post the pictures of me with closed eyes??? My face got shot to hell, but other than that it was great! The M42's really did work great, I managed to crawl within 15 feet of guys. Kicked Multicam's ass(I hate multicam, it's the gheyest thing I've ever seen. As soon as I saw anyone in Multicam I immediatly dumped a mag in their general direction). I think this event generated some great following, the modern guys reall got a kick out of us. i10.photobucket.com/albums/a102/ww2aa/504%202006/IMG_1153.jpgI look normal in that picture atleast. Oh and I'll eat the first person that say's we aren't dirty enough.

Awesome you guys. I think you're presence in numbers and as well turned out as you were really effects the others at the events view and interest in WW2 airsoft. Great ambasatorship.
Though obviously not finished it's great to see you got the garand conversion thrown together enough to be presentable. Nice to see the Grease gun as well. The M-42s looked great. Lots of nice details. You look like a formidable group.

Great pictures Sam. Congrats on a successful event.
That camoed helmet looks like Soviet Amoeba camo. Interesting look.

Question Sam. Is that a real bazooka out of the museum or an airsoft replica?

Its an exact replica, so if you put a battery in it, you could shoot it. We plan to launch nerf vortex out of it, via moscart rounds and a selonoid.
Zak, thats the gas camo pattern very common in the 1942-43 airborne
John, yes we did the uber-half ass 10 minute version of the garand conversion. I want to look into using a real garand stock to get that bulky look. -Gordak

The wavy camo US helmet was fairly common for the 82nd Airborne and for some Infantry elements of the 2nd Armored division. Africa, Sicily and Italian campaigns. By Normandy typically the only ones with it were the old veterans of earlier campaigns. You can see hints of it in B&W pictures if you look real hard. Again you guys looked great.
Sam, Using the real Garand wood is frought with challenges (I've now ruined two trying.) Very hard to get the sidewalls thin enough and hollowing out the stock and stock neck is really really hard. The slightly added thickness of the Garand stock also prevents your trigger assembly from attaching properly without mods that end up looking worse then what you've got. The Pro Arms Marui real wood stock $160.00 is likewise a bit too slender but is a nice enhancement. I've been doing quite a few with them lately. Finish the remaining basic tweaks and yours will look great. No one will mistake it for anything but a Garand and it and the the Grease gun and Nimlas's 1928 add alot to your group shot.

You guys are looking really good!
The guy with the grease gun (Gordak?) the camo on his helmet, I could have sworn I have seen on german helmets during WW1. I don't know squat about airborne, but it looks very good!

We forgot the camera, and besides, we were to busy actually shooting people to take video! Gordaks helmet camo was indeed used by the early 504. We copied it right off the original our buddy has. Beleive it or not, that paintjob actually worked VERY well. The gas camo scemes came in second, and plain OD helmets were not that bad either. Jack~
