A good choice as a proxy weapon, though.

They are almost identical twins, doesn't it just need a top handguard and a sight switch and some dremeling?

"They are almost identical twins" ouch, they are VERY different. the SVT is much thinner, and the barrels and gas systems are total opposits of eachother. It would take you years, or look like crap. I say no. (old man voice) I remember when svts were $250. -Gordak

You'd need to turn the barrel upside down, and cover it with wood, saw off the iron site, gloss the wood, and perhaps shorten the barrel? You could get it to look similar, but it would take a while to perfect it.

turning the barrel upside down? What about the hop up and gearbox?
My SVT 40 didnt even work well as a REAL gun, lol, airsoft would be a night mare, make a ppsh first.

what I meant was you would need to sink the barrel down into the stock, and put the floating part (bayonet lug?) on top, or replace it.

I think he means the gas tube thing that is used to make it a blowback gun. On the m14 it is underneath, on the svt40 it is on top.

the nozzle on the gearbox people! lol Im sorry about sounding vauge, but if you have never made a custom gun before, I guess thats how it would sound. the nozzle, barrel, hopup is in the top position, you would need to drop it down for the svt, This required modification of the tappet plate and hopup unit. but then, Thats not enough distance!, and your gear box is already sticking out, now its REALLY going to stick out, when u manage to line up with the barrel. to make that not happen, extreme modification is required. half why thru you will realize you should have made a G-43... Basically, Its possible, but its a massive amount of work to do it right, or even rightish. -Gordak

I realise that Gordak, to make this gun it would take basically a different gun besides the m14. The gearbox wouldn't line up right unless you had the airsoft barrle shoot out of the gas chamber. Haha, that would be interesting. Also, wouldn't it require more than just modification to the tappet plate and hop up? Wouldn't the whole gearbox have to be moved down?

Gordak is correct, The nozzle on the gearbox HAS to be in the center of the barrel. On the M-14 the nozzle is at the very top of the cylinder, It would be possible to turn the cyl. head upside down and modify the tappet plate so that the nozzle is at the bottom of the cylinder. This would allow the gearbox to sit higher in the gun. You would have to measure both a real SVT and the M-14 gearbox to determine if that gave you enough room to fit the gearbox.
