does anyone have any picture of the thompson gearbox opened up or the like, i tried to pt a new tappet plate in and it ended up in shambles. any help is appreciated.

hmmmmm...can't find much of anything on the thompson.good site though if you have a ver.2 or 3 or an aug or something.

I have to upgrade a Thompson on Saturday what pictures would you like of the gearbox? Opened, closed, takedown etc.. ///ed///

The tappet plate spring. With the tappet plate spring in the gun. Put the whole cylinder assembly togather (cylinder,piston,cylinder head, nozzle, and tappet plate) and angle it into the gearbox. Pull forward on the nozzle and tappet plate just enough to get it in front of the spring. You may have to use a small pick to move the spring back to the left to get it in. Also make note of the Sector gear timing lug. It should be in the one o'clock position. After re-assembly before test firing the gearbox. Press on the nozzle it should spring back smoothly. ///ed///
