Incidently the semi auto firing rule for riflemen at Gothic line with only sub machine gunners and designated BAR gunners allwed to fire fully auto (with low caps only) and only MGs (bi pod, tripod or vehicle mounted) allowed to fire sustained fully automatic was wonderful and added alot to the event. The offense had to pre plan how they positioned and utilized their "SAWs" and MGs and the defense had to refrain from exposing their MG positions too early just like in real combat. It was a great experience.

yes, a well placed MG can bog down a hole team, same with a good sniper. a 10 man team go's forward suddely one gets hit, but nobody know from where, then another and another suddenly 5 guys are down, the rest throw them self at the ground. and you have 1 man keeping 10 guys away from the rest of there team

In airsoft this shouldn't happen as the added range and accuracy of an airsoft "sniper" rifle is so close to a normal AEG that the sniper should be sufficiently supressed by the assaulting team. A well schooled team of airsofters can pretty much make the roles of airsoft sniper as you described it untenable. Immediate directed suppressive fire by the bulk of the team is the key. With that said most teams aren't that good and a well camouflaged player, positioned correctly with a decent rifle and skills can often succeed in the manner you described.

over here the boltaction sniper have 550fps and are good up to 75meters, normal aeg's are only 350 and are only good up to 40meters. and when the sniper have a full ghillie and is more or less invisible he can realy do some damige.

It takes how long to cover 35 meters at a dead run? I'm slow and can do 100 yards through the woods in 30 seconds. 35 meters in around eight. With a bolt action how many shots is that? The whole time you have rounds coming in your general direction and several people moving toward you. Admittedly most groups don't react aggressively enough. The reality is when they do an airsoft "sniper" is toast. Our AEG limits are 400 FPS. Do you employ a minimum engagement range for sniper weapons?

yes, 20meters for 450 semi snipers and 30meters for 550 boltaction. the point was the sniper is in cover and they don't know there the shots are comming from, then just chargin some place dosn't work, and with 20-30 minutes respawn time, you kinda get the, i don't want to be shot feeling. and most people wil run har duck behide cover and stay alive then be shot and wait 30 min to get in the game again

It's airsoft for goodness sake. What's a 20 -30 minute reswpawn time? You don't need to know the exact location of the opponent with three plus players firing in the general direction of the fire and moving aggressively to close the range bad things start happening fast for the so called sniper. I realize the tactics you're employing work well against typical airsoft players but against a decently trained and disciplined team you're toast with a bolt action rifle the range gap and accuracy adavantage is too minimal to offset the manuever capability and firepower of a well trained group with AEGs (even with low caps) Which is all we use.
What is your hit percentage (head and shoulder) at a range of 65 meters and what is your typical acquision time for each target (known locations) Cut the accuracy in half and double the acquisition time under fire.

Ok, lemme get this in before this thread dies, sniping has to be one of the least COST effective methods in airsoft. How much is a GOOD rifle? 800 bucks? A good scopes is like, what 300? Then you need a chicken, eerr I mean ghille suit. A stock AEG is like 300.You can slap a tightbore and a new spring in an AEG for what? 60 bucks? After you've done that and have a few guys with that have done the same, that sniper STILL doesn't have much of a chance, especially when you factor in the minimum engagement distance!
Now, before someone says "well I'm rich and I WANT to snipe so I don't care", just think about how stupid spending almost 2 grand on a platform, and then getting knocked out in 30 seconds by someones 360 Dollar AEG.
