I wonder why he had to crash land, I didn't see any prominent bullet or flak damage to the plane. I also wonder what would have happened if they had pressed the trigger on the joystick.

there are a million reasons to have to ditch, leningrad is swampy, it's possible he ditched it and lost it in the reeds, over time, the ground frimed up a bit and small trees grew and further sheltered it. thats the most dramatic find i have ever seen, the most ammazing thing is that the gauges are inside the plane, for some reason russian solders loved to remove gauges from wrecks, this means, that it is very likely that those people are the first to see the plane since it crashed!!!!!!!!
