The Jpn flag of WWII was the Rising Sun, not the just the red circle. I wonder why they don't show a rising sun flag?

True that, I just like the Rising Sun. I even have a tattoo of one on my side.
The Marines looked good though, just the flag which isn't a big deal.

The rising sun was the flag of the Japanese empirical Navy. The Japanese flag and it's army flag was the simple meatball flag. The Japanese Garrison at Tarawa was manned by Japanese army forces so the flag is correct. At Guadalcanal both Empirical army and Empirical navy (Marines) were involved so you see both flags. This was true in many of island campaigns.
At Tarawa most of the Marines had full camo uniforms (Tops and bottoms) so their uniforms are in my opinion not representative for that particular assault. The little details however are very well done.

Oh, well thanks for the info John, I didn't know that the "meatball" flag was around during then.

I was just about to point that information about the meatball flag too 2nd bat. guess ya just beat me to it.The video overall is of very good quality and representative of the typical re-enactors effort and quality that makes all the little touches add up. very good video. it looks like in several of the photos that one of the marines was sleeping. I never knew that marines slept. guess ya learn something new every day.
