Gentlemen, Tomorrow evening, at Six O'clock PM Central time, I will be boarding a plane chartered for Frankfurt, Germany. I will then, upon landing in Frankfurt, be boarding another plane for St. Petersburg, Russia. I will be traveling through Russia, throughout Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Volgograd, for the next two weeks. Upon returning, I will have five days before I leave for New York State for the next two months. I will be returning around August 20th. I will miss these boards and all the people here. You have become a web of friends, and I hope to be welcomed back upon my lenghthy time away. Thanks again, and have wonderful summers.

Hey, that sounds like it will be an amazing trip! I hope you have fun, just try not to visit any bars when the US game is on! Or any BlinderStabs. I hope you find many collectables from the historic battle, perhaps a few shells, some casings, maybe some personal affects. You might just find the remains of a german soldier and his whole uniform! Good luck and God speed.

Buda and Pest were unified in 1872 But if you meant which part he was in, than nvm my god darned, nationalist flaming out ;D Because we still refer to the East side of BP as Pest and the West side as Buda.

Hey everyone! I just returned from Russia, with two bags missing (stupid Frankfurt airport...) and 745 pictures from every military museum on the defense of Stalingrad, Leningrad, and Moscow possible! Its gunna take me forever to upload them all! Well, I can tell you guys what I saw if you want, you'd probably get bored though....ten days in Russia can run a little long, you know?

Trust me, I am the one who is gunna be ashamed when I tell you about all the real WWII stuff I had to pass up while there....hundreds of Kraut helmets, actual Russian machine guns, Kar 98s, thousands of canteens, an ARTILLERY PIECE! (The artillery piece they were asking 500 dollars for! I hate myself for not being able to get it home!)

Yes, It was at a museum...the Iron Crosses used to be held at the KGB Museum, located in Lubyanka, but was moved when the KGB museum was permanently shut down. They are now held at the Red Army History Museum, in Moscow.

What's amazing is that those Iron crosses represent nothing in comparison to Russian losses in the war, I recently found a very complete record of casualties, and the Russian losses even dwarf the holocaust victims.
