I was just wondering if there were any Airsoft versions of the Mauser Anti-Tank Rifle in production, even if it isn't that good, I'd like to get my hands on one since my grandfather owned a real one for years until the state came and took it from him a year and a half ago because a neighbor doesn't like him and turned him in. He never used it but it was his war trophy.
Any info would be appreciated

well, he's kind of a selfish individual, to put it kindly, he was only caught because he was trying to sell it, personally I want the airsoft version cuz ever since I got involved in WWII stuff he promised it to me but then found out it had a pretty price tag and decided to sell it.

lol, I don't believe he had any ammo. but that would have been something to see. AP round ripping through cop cars. AWESOME. I'll have to do my research, get a nice bolt action spring box and make one. That'll eat up my free time for sure.

This is what I would be hoping to recreate, is there anything of a similar appearance out there? personally it reminds me of an oversized Kar98 but I'm sure all the K98 fans will tear me a new one for saying that. I am having trouble finding the specs, I think it is anywhere from 5' to 5'6" but I'm just guessing from a picture of a man holding it and it's almost exactly as tall as him. Knowing that WWI era people were shorter than people today, I thought that was a fair estimate *Admins please adjust my picture as I can never seem to shrink it down*

It looks alot like the VSR-10 pro sniper. Little differences, and you would need to add a bipod and a handle grip thing, but it could be done:

That is the WWI German AT rifle. It was 1.68m long, weighed 17.3kg, and fired a 13.2mm x 92mm cartridge. Yes, it was very big, and a VSR-10 wouldn't cut it if you were trying to portray an actual AT rifle. This would be a tough custom gun since the availability of surplus AT parts would be rare and expensive. You could also fabricate your own parts though!

i think mauser meant the guy who turned him in but anyways, i think the vsr-10 bolt looks a little small compared to the AT rifle, but that may just be becuase of the photo perspectives

Even if you were to make one, how would you load the bbs? If I understand correctly, this gun only had one bullet in it at a time... A more practical choice to make an airsoft gun out of (In my opinion), would be the Panzerbüchse 35(p) ( Picture found here). It looks more like the VSR-10 (though, remember, the VSR is not your only choice) with some modifications of course, and you could load hundreds of bbs into the magazine of the Panzerbüchse 35(p). Though remember, this is only a suggestion! If you want the rifle you posted, go for it!

You can use the CAW shells.

The only problem with CAW shells is that they are damn expensive! Though, and someone please correct me if I'm wrong, I believe the CAW shells are about 40mm diameter? That might be to large for an anti-tank rifle.

I think the major problem is that the AT rifles are really just oversized rifles. If you used the VSR-10 it would still look like a normal rifle and not the oversized AT rifle. Even if you made the right sized stock, the chamber and bolt would all look small in comparison. Maybe you could fabricate a sort of metal "shell" to fit over the normal receiver to just give the appearance of an AT rifle. As for the stock, you might have to build your own from scratch as I doubt you could find an original and it would probably be pricey (and if you did, why would you tear it up!! ) That's just my two cents. It would certainly be an awesome project to take on though! -Fenrir

I think I'm going to do my research and see what I can acomplish, however, to answer howitzer's question, there are airsoft rifles in production that are bolt action. Most of them just require you to pour a number of bb's in a trap door in the stock and load one by one as you work the action.
Either way, this looks like a very different and challenging undertaking, and I'm really getting excited about giving it a shot. (no pun intended.) thanks to the stats given I can start scaling everything from the length measurement through proportions.
I'll keep you all posted.

After that, then undertake the stock/handle grip/barrel extensions and stuff of the like. just an idea
