Sure I could show how to do battle damage. Ya know I have been wanting to put together a WW2AA Model builders group, why should the only time we all get together be when we airsoft why not when we buidl models too. I have the basement to do it in and hell we can meet once a month.

lol, sounds great.... i have a BUNCH of models i gotta build... i started a Tiger ( Dragon Models) just my airbrush clunked out so i gotta get a new one... and im gonna redo the camo i learned of a cooler way to do it using silly putty or i might just use that on another model, i also have a Kenttenrad (Tamiya) to finish which i started doing damage to that one... mainly using my little file to make dings and dents in it. Then i have an 88 (Dragon), P51, P47, ME 109, B 24 which pieces got lost when my basement flooded.... and a bunch of other models i started when i was younger.... and just never finished because I couldnt use an airbrush, plus i got this neat diorama set i gotta put together lol that doesnt even count my car models ;-P ... but that would be awsome... and then one time we could meet at my house... and use my garage -Cary

Wow, those models look great! Excellent job; can you post some pictures of your German works?
I might look into getting some German armor models and have a Tiger I, Panzer IV and Panther to display in my room- these look really neat. How much are kits?

Well kits can run from $10 to $200 it really depends on what company you want to buy from and the availability of the subject matter. Heres a Sherman Tank I built in my first year of modelbuilding. I used it as a test bed for weathering techniques (I have yet to build another Armor model) lol Oh and I dont build many German Planes as my interest lies in the Pacific theater but I do have two Bf-109 E4s I have built/ am building that I can post pics up of. not bad at all for a first attempt at weathering. I used to build a lot of the tamiya 1/35 series a few years back, but modeling has been on the back burner to my other hobbies. Is that a tamiya sherman? the accesories at least look like tamiya's. lol, pretty glossy GP and musette bags.

Never ceases to amaze me! I have a collection of 1/72 models, but they are all missing pieces or breaking up because I had them in a box for storage . I am building the courage to attempt a battleship, but thats a hell of alot of man hours and a sturdy hand. Great job, and I'm all for a model builders group. I love building models! I forgot to mention, flames of war, does anybody know what this is? I know people build their own armies, and I think it would be cool to get a contest going of the biggest most badasss armies on the block!

Yeah I was going for mud but didnt make the paint dark enough, but luckly I learned my lesson in the 4 years since then. I have a model that Im going to post tommarrow that will blow your minds. It was damaged a bit while at Revell Monogram but nothin 5 min cant fix with an airbrush.

Dude, that looks sweet! I've seen a bunch of sites over the last few years displaying members' works and am always amazed at the detail as well as the outcome of each project. I picked up a Type VIIC U-Boat a few months ago but haven't gotten to it yet unfortunately. I still have to pick up all the various colors of paint required from the local hobby shop... Mike

In regards to German armor models, please look at the following link www.missing-lynx.comalso, below is the link for one of the best German armor and figure manufacturers: www.dragon-models.comI would also recommend Trumpeter's 1/35 Sturer Emil as a fun build, it's an early production heavy tank destroyer, 2 of which were built. The track links are rubber, but high quality, so it's a good kit for beginners. As a rule, I don't do Tamiyas, but then again for those interested in starting German armor, I would recommend picking one of these up. The track links are usually rubber and some of the assemblies are preassembled For those interested in German armor, the bottom line is buy 1/35 kits from Tamiya, Trumpeter, or Dragon (in that order when you are a beginner). If you are interested in figures, only buy dragon and get their newer generation 2 figures. Below is the Sturer Emil I mentioned, primed but unpainted: Here is a completed one of mine, a 1/35 Nashorn heavily weathered with washes and pigments (excuse the poor photo quality) Glad to hear people are interested in modelling ;D

I love your battele damaged P47 as the lay out essentially tells a story which is the sign of a good model display. My question is: Was the circle star on the Jeep used in the Pacific or just the ETO. I'm not being a wiseass I am just curious. I seemed to remember it as a Late Mediterranean, Northern Europe deal?

Actually the Jeep wasnt a model kit and I didnt build it, apparently at Wal-Mart you can buy 1/48 die cast military vehicles fo $5. I will be repainting it though I just havent gotten around to it, good eye though.

That model looks great! Have you considered sending a pic to FineScale Modeller?
I have so many models to build.... I really want to build the B-17G that my grandfather bought me right before he died but I am so nervous. I am a horrible painter! I can do conversions, modify, and super detail but I cannot paint to save my life! lol Any tips?
