Merry Christmas everyone, and a late happy Hanukah to my jewish friends.
I had a great christmas this year, both emotionally and materialistically. I hope you all did as well.
I "liberated" a good deal this year, from the looks of my stash (mostly things I ordered from me to myself) the giftlist appears to be... - a cyma ak74 w/2 batteries, 5 magazines, 3 bags of .23's, and a partridge in a pear tree -a TL-122B flashlight - Wool leather palmed gloves - earlier model m3 knife w/ m6 scabbard - 10" bayonet - original mint cond. jungle first aid kit - My grandfathers original Class A's, and all of his other Korean War/WWII belongings (including old film he shot). - A new pool cue - a few dvd's and CD's - clothes, stocking-stuffers, and some of the other regular xmas gifts. - Plane tickets to visit my friend in Virginia - A few garand parts for an upcoming conversion - a few books - Lots of snowmobiling gear
So all in all it was a great christmas, I got to see all my relatives on both sides of my family (a rarity these days), so that was a gift in itself. Good gifts, great memories, happy holiday.
@ Binarypunisher, WOLVERINES X2!! My secret desire for a "red dawn" impression (lol) will soon be fufilled because of my new ak74. Read "Black Edelvies" first, I read it before and its an excellent book

Well, I will post what i got,
I was issued an M1 Garand, yes real steel, and its friggen BEAUTIFUL!, I also got a 30 cal ammo box, and was given 3 hand grenades to go along with that. The M1 Garand was the main part of my gift, as i found out it is worth 900$, yes 900, and i have figured out why, I disassembled it and found all matching parts (save the barrel 51 dated) the stock has the proper WW2 markings, and after looking at the serial number i have concluded that it is a 43-44 dated weapon. The stock is perfect, and the Parkerization is also beautiful!I also got an original 11th airborne patch. -Cary

A copy of the book " The War" I got the same book. Is that the one by Ken Burns? Oh - and I gave myself this. Not a bad Christmas. Also got to stomp around in the woods on a moonlight walk. Perfect weather, 25-degree F, no wind, full moon. Perfect.

Brothers in Battle, Best of Friends by "Wild Bill" Guarnere and Edward Babe Heffron Yes, I like to read... I hear that's a very good book. I got some clothes, 150 bucks, Xbox 360 remote, Robot Chicken season 1 (HILARIOUS!) and Rock Band. Rock Band > GH3. I never get WW2 stuff, no one feels like ordering online or letting me do that. So I just get the cash to buy whatever I want. It was a good Christmas. And what gun is for that stock?

I likewise got the Book "The War" by Ken Burns as well as a complete series of WW2 films and music each contained in fake film canisters. My wife found the series at COSCO and it was a four part series which includes virtually all the Houston Capra, Gable movies produced by the Army Signal Corp for release throughout the war.
In addition I got an excellent book Citizen Soldier about the 442nd and a DVD "Behind Barbed Wire" also about the Japanese Relocation and 442nd. It includes one of my favorite war films "Go for Broke" from 1951. Many of the actual members of the 442nd were in the film including one of my wife's uncles.
My kids were all home along with many cousins and aunties and uncles. It was a great Christmas. I also got a couple bolt action rifles (Long overdue) that are going into Springfield stocks for customers. My wife assumed they were for me and hid them from me surprising me with them under the tree yesterday. They got in last week. I'm embarrassed because I got on the retailers about not getting them to me! Even though they were for customers I have to admit I did dink around with them yesterday and again today (Testing them out of course) and they are pretty fun. (Marui VSR and TSD VSR)

Tone?? I didn't know such a thing existed outside of guitars?
Cello?? Is that some thing that aspires to be a double bass?
Kidding of course, gotta have respect for those who play without frets!
