Dress jackets are fairly abundant and still an item you can find fairly reasonably at flea markets and second hand stores. The challenge of course is finding one that fits. This one was a tech nco with a landing amphibious force element. The Army had more boats then the Navy and this guy probably was in support of them.

40R for a class A uniform is not very big, just to warn you.
while a 40R overcoat is huge.

It'll be way too small for you. M43's were oversized to allow for layering, as were fatigues (HBT's). For example I'm 5'8" and 175 and a 40R Class A will fit me just about right, maybe even a bit small.

It definately won't fit. M M43 is a 34 and it fits(Sort of), yet my class A is a 39.

Wont fit, but good to collect , dress jackets seem to be a smaller fit. -Nick

yeah that would be too small to wear, but was a nice piece. I've seen that kind of thing go for $75 or better on the militaria collecting forum....

Ray do you have a suit jacket at home? Suit Jackets are usually measured by Chest size, like Military Dress Jackets. If you have a suit jacket, read the tag and that size should be the size you should get. But dont forget alot of guys had their uniforms tailored and jackets can be tricky. -Nick

My m43 jacket is a 36, and is a bit big. Yet my class A jacket is a 38L and is snug. Go figure.
