Shots to vital organs still don't kill though Shots to the body do kill. It may take a couple in the chest, but I dropped many in the game with body shots. Sticking a knife in the enemy works as well. The Russians seem to wear more body armor than the terrorists (of course).

I'd be wary of buying it. I bought it today after lunch and finished it after dinner, no lie!
Some of the missions were genuinely fantastic, like the first level on the ship. From there they seemed to go down hill...
While some sections are fun (anything involving stealth, or lasers, or AC-130's), others are just tiresome. I started off playing immediately on hardened, and perhaps since I rushed it, I had to play many sections over and over and over until they were no longer fun. I was literally pounding my keyboard in the launch control center because of my inability to beat it.
I guess the fundamental problem with this game is that of all scripted shooters: You are constantly thwarted by hordes of unlimited enemies. While it may sound like a good idea to stay in cover, it's not after a certain point. What's really frustrating is that you have to guess the point where you stop shooting the bad guys and run to the next location to de-trigger their spawn.
Whenever a game makes me wonder whether or not I'll activate events or trigger an enemy spawn, the illusion is shattered and I just want to finish the level.
Oh and that's not the worst! The Spetsnaz campaign was removed!!!!!!!
I can't say all bad things about the game though. The aforementioned AC-130 segment is definitely in my top 20 gaming movements.
If you are interested in this game, WAIT for it to drop down in price. It's definitely a fun one to have, but I regret spending 50 bucks on it.

I respect your opinion, but obviously you are in the minority. The game has perfect scores from almost every major gaming site online as well as Amazon.com buyers. And the game is really designed to have a long life as an online shooter. I finished the single player story and it IS short, but I look forward to replaying missions in different ways. I agree that the launch control/silo scenario was infuriating. But like any game, do it enough and you know who jumps out where. Another plus for me is that it shows off my HD tv/360 system more than any other game (Bioshock used to). Did you stick around after the end credits to play the bonus airplane/hostage SAS scenario?

I spoke too soon!
I didn't play the epilogue (which is AWESOME) and I hadn't started the online yet.
If you don't buy the game for the prologue and epilogue (which are the only levels I've replayed), buy it for the multiplayer. If it was a standalone multiplayer like CS, DoD, or RO, it still would have been worth buying.
The levels are fun, the weapons (despite technical inaccuracies) are fun too, and Search and Destroy is the greatest game mode out there.
I would definitely give it a 9/10!!!!
EDIT: I played the PC version if that matters.

I may get it tommorow, I've heard from everyone I know that its a great game, and I don't doubt that. But I've spent a good chunk of cash'ola on video games the past few weeks. Halo 3 and Guitar Hero 3 have cost me about 160 bucks and this would run me up another 60, thats $220 in under a month for just videogames. I'm not a very big videogame fan anyways and would rather spend some cash on something I enjoy more. I'll definitely have to get this eventually, but just wait until the price drops or I make a little more money.

the is prety good, I would have liked to have a loadout screen were you choose weapons before a mission.
the SAS missions are cool, and the weapons do more damige then in COD 1-3.
I take out most enemy with a doubletap from my MARSOC

.50 cal Sniper Headshots
as of dis moment I'm a Major but i've picked it up plenty of times. 3 headshots through walls though! Anyway classic example of nerfing as it takes 2 bodyshots sometimes! I hit his lungs and he's like "ROFL I R TAKEZ TEH .50 CAL Bullet to teh lungz" so i dropped him with my other weapon... a M249 SAW

I just rented it today. All I can say is DAMN. It's hard to believe the guys who made WW2 games (only decent ones at that) made this masterpiece. Campaign is sweet, just when you think it's over, another mission comes up. Too bad the **SPOLERS** American dies 1/3 of the way through the game. But I like the S.A.S. (BTW, what does that stand for?) The sniping mission and the other sniping mission after are easily the funniest missions I've played in a game. A major downfall I see though is no co-op Live. Is there co-op on the same console? Yea I was going for an all nighter, but I'm tired. I'll add ya Yankee tomorrow.

Wait, why are we using Cobras instead of Apaches? Cause it says "Cobra down, Cobra down!" I though the Apache replaced the Cobra?

CoD 4 uses the USMC 1st Force Recon to represent the US forces, and the Marine Corp uses an updated version of the Cobra. The AH-1F Super Cobra I believe it is.

Yeah, Marines don't need no fancy high tech gizmo copter, they're just good like that. OORAH! BTW, Neville, I alwasys thought that Call Of Duty games were some of the best WWII games (exept Brothers In Arms, and even that had some issues in the beginning). In my opinion, Call Of Duty was far superior than Medal Of Honor.

Ok I see. Didn't know the Apache wasn't used in the USMC. I thought Finest Hour was a great game actually, my favorite, but it went downhill from there. Yankee accepting FR?
