I thought this movie was a really good sequel unlike Hills Have Eyes 2. Anyone else like 28 Weeks?

Ya it was prettygood. I'd say I liked it about as much as the first one. I saw it a few months ago so I really don't remember all that much. It looks like they set it up for a trilogy quite well though.

The first one was great but they changed too much of the infected for this one......I thought it was a poor follow up.....

I definitely agree with 5th on this... It turned wayy to Romero for me, IMO. I didn't like the whole "dad zombie follows his kids and never dies from the attacks" sort of thing. 28 days was way more in sync and a lot less fantasy. (I know, zombies and realism don't really go hand in hand.) I digress though, it was really well done and an awesome zombie movie nonetheless.

I loved everything but the kids, they ruined basically the whole movie. They should have just kept it simple, and I agree with mauser about the dad. I thought they portrayed the US military scenes excellently though.

The first one was great but they changed too much of the infected for this one......I thought it was a poor follow up..... I agree completely. The first was a really fresh take on the zombie genre that was realistic (well, as realistic as a movie like this can be) and very powerful at the same time. Best of all, it ended on a hopeful level. Sure, plenty of people were dead, but the infected were dying out, the government was slowly building itself back (as suggested by the flyover of the jet at the end) and you got the impression that eventually, everything would be back to normal (as much as it could anyway). This second move simply made very little sense. It's been seven months after a national outbreak of a disease nobody really understands yet, they're re-populating the country already and on top of that, find a carrier of the disease and leave unguarded to start it all over again? And yes, don't forget the ending where it somehow got off the island after all. You can't seem to have a zombie movie ending where the zombies don't win. I liked the ending of the first movie, thinking, "wow, gutsy to have a happy ending to a movie like this." I wasn't shocked at all at the ending of the second one even though it really didn't make any sense in the least. My biggest beef with zombie movies is that for some reason, you can't HAVE a good ending. The zombies always have to unstoppable and the good guys can never get away. Sure it sets you up for sequels, but it makes for crummy storytelling.

my biggest problem overall was that it wasnt scary. The first one was totally different from other zombie movies and had me on edge the whole time. This one had some gross out scenes but it really wasnt scary to me at all.....kinda like the 'Grudge' movies - the first one had some potential - even though it ripped off 'the ring' and the 'fatal frame' video game series for most of its ideas - but the second one had my wife and I laughing throughout the whole movie......

And yes, don't forget the ending where it somehow got off the island after all.
Remember, the helicopter pilot originally waiting for the sniper was found by the kids and taken, but i don't get how it spread from there.

I think the infection gets to France by the kid, he is a carrier like his mother.

But in the movie, a group of refugees will be let in the land down under, including one infected person, then all hell will break loose...

Like NASA made it to mars and when the astrounauts come home the whole world is infected and they gotta fight their way or something like taht, but hopefully SciFi channel doesn't make some cheesy remake of 28 days/weeks like they so often do like Lake Placid 2...
