As reported on AirsoftNews.EU and found by our diligent readers,
Marushin is dusting off the old 6mm manufacturing equipment and giving us a New[/b] New M1 Carbine!
6mm GBB with correct stick mag by the looks of it! w00t!
Those 8mm M1 Carbines that out there will become collectors items now- I'd better grab one before their gone.
Also, with this news, I would expect a Chinese clone version to be out by summer.
Slainte!

Ah, i just saw this! I can't wait since the Carbine is one of my favorite allied weapons. I'm glad they went with the 6mm though, because I find the 8mm to be a pain. I'm hoping this'll be blowback. (And green gas ready )

Yes, yes, and again yes. Hopefully its performance will be improved upon as well. If this comes through, I'll probably have to snag one for myself. Hopefully it'll satisfy my taste for the poor ol' carbine, and I'll sell my old old model 8mm nbb.

Lets hope it doesn't have a bayonet lug, then they would kill my hopes. Nick

If the only thing wrong with it is the bayonet lug we should be so lucky. This is great news!!!!!

No, you have to get an M1A1 Stock, and then put the M1 Internals in the stock, i believe it only takes a little bit of dremel work. -Cary

The Bayonet lugs are extremely easy to remove, takes about 2 minutes with a saw.

Who all has these new Carbines and for how much? I want to see one first. I have one of the old ones and modified it into a paratrooper model. How about a list of the companies offering it.

Here's a list... -Marushin I believe they had a 6mm non-blowback model, an 8mm non-blowback model, and a new blowback m1 and m2 carbine (both have the "bananna mags"). Prices vary from the different retailers.

Interestingly the original Marushin 6mm airsoft gun was a GBB, semi automatic which required you to insert gas in two reservoirs within the gun. One powered the BB and the other the Blow Back. They were cool when they worked but were extremely problematic. Maruyshin then eliminated the GBB aspect reducing it to a "cock it everytime, non blowback 6mm gun) It was an outstanding performer and an excellent replica. (Bayonet lug not withstanding)
They then went to 8mm and ultimately the 8mm GBB. M2 carbine. With this introduction they are apparently returning to 6mm. I'd love to see someone go a step further and do an AEG aside from our own troyluckinbill. or the abomination in China with the goofy oversized magazines

Yep, in my opinion an AEG would be by far the best option. Seeing how marushin is gas only (I believe) I doubt that'll ever happen with them. Mabye the 6mm blowback model yet to be released will have some major improvements over the newer blowback m1's and m2's, but marushin isn't known for improving their designs much before releasing new models (cough m1 garand cough). Unless they really step it up, I'm planning on holding to my 8mm nbb. It's a great little gun imo.

They weren't issued with bayonet lugs until like 1945, or later. They are considered for the most part post war...

very very very late war, I think the earliest I've heard is april '45. So unless you're doing an impression where you're straight from the states and just barely caught up to the war then it's not correct. Cutting the bayonet lug is very very simple though. Just another reason why wikipedia isn't the worlds best source.

Thanks for the info on the Carbine, I didn't know I had gotten so far behind in the latest on it. My current one is one of the middle ones (cock it every shot, only gas in the mag). I too would like to see an AEG on this one. I heard these new ones will not be availabile until March. I will have to get two, one for ETO and the other for PTO

Well airsoft-news said mid march. And marushin isn't one of those companies with huge releases. My guess is redwolf or wgc will just put it up on the new releases in a few weeks.

problem is that Marushin, isn't really known for being on time with releases either I'm just a little cautious, because i've been meaning to sell my Carbines in preparation for this new one, but I haven't heard anything about it other than the little blurp on Airsoft News. Just seems odd we haven't heard much else about it since then.
