problem is that Marushin, isn't really known for being on time with releases either I'm just a little cautious, because i've been meaning to sell my Carbines in preparation for this new one, but I haven't heard anything about it other than the little blurp on Airsoft News. Just seems odd we haven't heard much else about it since then. ....Which makes it right on schedule for Marushin- exact same thing happened with the M2 Carbine- Sanken posted the order, which they always do, I posted the news here, then about a year later, we saw the product..... (Sorry therise, I meant to 'quote' and hit 'modify' on your original message instead )

very very very late war, I think the earliest I've heard is april '45. So unless you're doing an impression where you're straight from the states and just barely caught up to the war then it's not correct. Cutting the bayonet lug is very very simple though. Just another reason why wikipedia isn't the worlds best source. I have an inland built in september of 43 with a bayonet lug. The gun's numbers all are matching and it's all orginal.

Built in '43 but probably didn't see service till late in the war. Remember, items were produced and stock piled. Near my home is the old WWII Quartermaster Depot, the warehouses are 4 stories tall, a half block long (each), and there are 8 that are still standing. Imagine all the gear that sat there and never saw service till Korea?
I have a bunch of OD #7 gear that is stamped '44 & '45, I probably didn't see action until Korea. Most of it looks unissued. Basically, the Army didn't throw anything away. They sat on it till they needed it.

Interesting hairyapple, but like Capt. Zak said, it probably never saw issue until late in the war. You can make a rifle a lot faster than you can a soldier, and believe me there were mounds and mounds and mounds of gear that never made it out of a QM warehouse. If you see pictures of one with a bayo lug on during the war in combat however, that's a different story.
