What is everyones opinion on the Osprey books?

I have 3 and I really like them they are simple but to the point and have pretty good pictures on the topic.

good for beginners, after that there are errors that really turn off the seasoned hobbyists. THe most vile thing, was osprey's insistance that there were blue FJ helmets... this went on for many years, pretty much everyone knows they didnt exist now, but osprey screwed alot of people on the colector markets over the years. -Gordak

Their 18th century books are really eh.......but not a bad place to start, so it figures that their ww2 books would be the same.

thier Roman stuff is getting better now, it used to be way bad, The main thing is the books are so small and vauge, its really no better than surfing the net.
When I started out in the ww2 hobby 15 years ago, I read em all the time, they are a good cheap primer. -Gordak
