came up with one little problem I bet that sucker is going to hold the gas in the mag making it in no way skirmishable much like a grease gun...ok so the grease gun can be played with but not in the cold very well as far as I have seen.

Yeah, I really hope the M2 is skirmishable. How late in the war were those introduced? Just curious cuz I've never seen that banana clip before.

i once read in a book that contained short written memiors of paratroopers experience in normandy and one of them talked about how he custom made his m1 to have full auto capability. would the ww2 airsoft community accept using it fully auto in that sense

I don't speak for this group but based on my time here they like 100% historically accurate. Along with that like reenactors they wnat you to do an impression of "the norm" what you are suggesting would be an exception not "the norm" My group would let you use it as it looks much better than an M4 varient with your paratrooper impression but these guys have high standards and we should respect what rules they have when we play with them.

I beleive his sear pin wore down making the carbine fire 3 or 4 times with each pull of the trigger

do you think you could put a shorten clip in the m2 carbine, to give it the m1 look?

It supposedly has an optional 15 round mag for the carbine, so we might be safe. The m2 is planned to be released in mid september '06, and will cost around 41,790 yen, or around $360 USD.

yeah..just having a semi, full GBB M1 carbine will be great......my question is still whether the old 15 round mags will fit the new gun....

Once again I am excited about a potential WW2 US offering and no doubt will purchase one. Hopefully the GBB function will be reliable enough to skirmish with and you won't have to hold all your gas in the gun iteself requiring gas reloads on the field. The down side of that of course will be the magazines will be mundo expensive.

Looks very interesting, I hate to be a nay sayer but I have serious doubts about the usefullness of a gas 8mm MP40, especially since Marushin is making it. Not that Marushin can't make a decent gun. Just that they usually aren't very skirmishable.

Filing a sere on any semi auto gun is extremely easy so a fully auto anything that was semi would be realistic. It was however not commonly done to any of the semi auto rifles or carbines of the day. The bannana clip was extremely extremely rare for the carbine during WW2 and for all intents and purposes non existent in the ETO. Quite common of course by Korea and Vietnam.

Airsoft Euro site claims Marushin M2 GBB (hence semi automatic) will be released in mid to late Nov 2006. I hope it is more reliable and skirmishable then the garand. I know it will lose some of it's legendary power compared to the non Blaw back variation since some of the gas that propells the BB will now be diverted to operate the GBB. Since the gas will probably be in the magazine they'll be expensive but at least you won't have to stop and charge the gun in the field after a few clips like you have to with the Garand from marushin.
All of this is speculation but it appears the release date is soon to be at hand. price is $276.00 Euro whatever that works out to.
