Ok so basically i already have a CA M24 thats been upgraded to 580fps and thats what usually use when i play(wich i rarely do) but i like the marushin kar98k because of the ejecting shells and stuff, but i want to mainly know is that will it stand up to just target shooting and maybe popping a friend out in the yard every know and then?

It's a peice of crap(Unless you ask Hans)
But it will probably be ok for just backyard playing.
I'm hoping you have minimum engagement distances when you use that M24!

I find the Marushin Kar98 to be a decent gun, with a very realistic feel to it. While I prefer the Tanaka Kar98, I would not say the Marushin is a bad gun by any means.

Do you actually own one? Rainer and I both had them, and once we realized they were extremely delicate, we took as tender care of them as we possibly could. Both of ours died very soon despite that. It's just a flawed freak of nature of a gun, that only exists because people think the tanaka is too expensive. The marushin does not have a realistic feel at all, it's half the weight of the Tanaka. are you really familiar with these guns? For what you get, the Tanaka is CHEAP. -Gordak

It is true that it is a delicate where- cocking the bolt is concerned; you need to be very careful because the bolt assembly has a weak point. However, as long as you know not to be cranking on the bolt the gun should hold up fine. Also, the hop up on the gun is crap, however seeing I don’t use a hop up anyway; taking it out completely keeps the gun working fine. As far as the Tanaka is concerned- I wasn’t putting it up against the Marushin Kar98. I simple don’t agree that the Marushin Kar98 is a crap gun. It may not be perfect and needs a little love and care… but all in all I find it a decent gun to use.

only thing is if i do get 450$ im not gonna spend it on a tanaka kar98k no matter how sexxy they are it will be a garand instead, but i just want the marushin one because my friend just has a stock g-spec and he now wont let me in in his little field games due to the fact that mygun can shoot twice the length of his field. As for the shells go, i tend to shoot slowly and only use about 1 shot every minute since i am more on the DM/Sniper side so there wouldnt be any cocking of the bolt real fast or slamming it back in since apperantly as some of yall say it is weak there.

My Marushin shoots hard, but it is a very delicate weapon. YOU CANNOT SLAM THE BOLT! You gotta keep the barrel clean, and god forbid the shells get dirty. It will jam the gun. The BB's will be covered in dirt and get stuck in the barrel-hop up area. You can extract the shells from the chamber without dropping them, so that Issue shouldn't be big. (I earlier posted that my marushin performed disasterously at a game, it was because I dropped the shells and they got dirty/sandy) The Marushin is a nice gun, not that practical, but it gives you the feel of a bolt action weapon. The wood is nice, its not real but it is wood. Nice colour, no dents for me so far. The receiver is ABS, no problems at all. This gun definatly earns respect, no the term POS
