Okay, I got nowhere with other forum board but I think I've come to right place.
Has anyone here or know of some who has tried to make a airsoft Mosin-Nagant out of a real one? I was thinking of making one out of a 38 or 44 carbine since I feel it be more manageable than the 91/30 long rifle. But, if you can't help that's alright. I just feel if no one is going to make on for airsoft from scratch then it should be tried with the real thing. I mean if someone can make an airsoft gun out of a Vickers then anything should be possible right?

I don't think anyone has made a Mosin, but like how 2nd bat is making a springfield from a spring rifle, you could do the same thing but russian style. Mosin-Nagant rifles are pretty cheap, so you could gut it and drop in a spring rifle.

I have not heard of anyone attempting a Mosin build.

Well, once I can find and afford a good spring rifle I may attempt it like 2nd bat is with the Springfield. If he writes a how to after he's done I shall use that to guide me as well and write my own.

Just had this discussion today. I'm also working on the Springfield project and have the base gun, the USR 11, along with a M-N 44 carbine on hand. I suspect that you could stuff one into the other with some comprimises. Since I'm using what few brain cells I have left on the 03 I'll give you some food for thought. 1. Is there an accuracy goal? If so, what is it? I.E. The M-N has a bolt that sticks out 90 degrees from the action. Is replicating this desireable? 2. Is cost an issue? 3. Do you have access to a machine shop/machinest, put another way, what resources do you have? I'm not trying to discourage you, in fact I'm trying to get a definition of your goal and hopefully be able to kick in some ideas.

I think jimseery has got the idea(He also likes to hunt the evil Beer Cans, therefore his words have infinate power ;D). It all boils down to YOU and what YOU want to do, and what YOU can do. Is it feasable? Of course, I don't see why it wouldn't be, BUT you're going to have to do alot of work and spend ALOT of money. Custom guns are a HUGE cash drain, and selling them usually results in a huge loss of money. I've seen far to many threads where other people spend hours explaining things in detail, only to have the person decide they no longer want their custom superl33tsn1pz0rd317ar1fl13.
