Alright so I need to figure out how the hell I get the gearbox out of the lower reciver from my TM Thompson. Obvisously my gun is taken all apart and the only thing left to do is remove the gearbox from the lower reciver. However it seems that the selector switches are holdign the gearbox in, how do I get them off to remove the gearbox?

there are allen grub screws holding on the selector switches on (on the sides) take those out. pull off the selector switches. Then you should have two stubs with screws in them take those out. take off the little stubs. Then take the pistol grip off then it should come out. I just finished dealing with a CYMA today so it should be pretty similar.
or watch the video:) Maybe he could have made that in a little darker room? ;D

Ok well I have gotten the gearbox out and found out the problem. For all my tinkering and building of airsoft guns I have yet to have to dive into a gearbox and try to fix one. But mine seems to need it. The dang thing will only fire on fully automatic, and even when I turn it to semi it spurratically fires on full auto. I have no idea what the problem is and may have to get a new gear box.
Anyone have a clue as to what might be going on?

That is going to be an issue with the selector switch area. I doubt you need a new gearbox for that. Look for fused areas on the trigger contacts electrical burns on or around the selector switch contacts or where the trigger contacts touch.
