Alright, today myself and Jeff went to Batavia for a Memorial day reenactment/ display event. Here are some pics of our small but well packed Marine camp. In the photos you can see the following airsoft guns, M1918 BAR, M1928 Thompson, M1 Carbine, M1A1 Thompson, M1903A1 Springfield, Victory revolver, M3A1 Grease gun, and M1911 Colt.45. We also had on disply two real steel weapons, the M1897 Trench gun and an M1903A3 Springfield (both owned and purchased by Jeff on Saturday. We had a range of gear representing different types of kits from 1942 all the way to 1945. We had two different types of tents and a ton of stuff to display. TommyGunner

neat little display. A few minor incorrect things (barrel on the m1897, furniture on the thompson, the springfields, the BAR, the little charging handle on the carbine) but really nothing that the public would pick up easily.
Did you point out/promote to the public that most of the weapons were airsoft?

As far as the barrel on the M97...I literally left the event to go pick it up. Next time you see it there will be the correct barrel w/ heatshield. But I have to ask...what "furiture" is wrong on the Thompson? We had a 1928 version and a M1A1 on hand. And what's wrong with the Springfields? We had a WW1 type (airsoft) and an A3 (real steel) to show the differences.

Did you point out/promote to the public that most of the weapons were airsoft? <YD> The 1897 was picked up that day and Jeff had not had time to put a 20 inch barrel on it or a heat shroud/ bayonet lug. Also the Springfield on the top is a reall 44 dated matching serial number unisued M1903A3 so absolutly nothing is wrong with it!. The bottom Springfield represents a WW2 rebuild of the WW1 M1903A1 issued to the USMC with a full pistol grip stock (yeah it was done, not commonly, but I do want the scant version stock though) I also made that thing myself, put my cash tears and sweat into it and the wood finish on it is impecable if I do say so, many thought it was a real stock. The finish on the BARs grip is also very good as I got many inquirins and a few serious orders for me to build some prop BARs for reenactors (one guy who had a real on at the event wanted me to make him one) The carbine handle thing is a duh thing anway (besides no screw driver to take it off) Also on the Thompson the M1A1 finish is great but I refuse to spend $300 on a CAW M1928 wood set for my 1928 so I have been workign on modifying a Wood (military issue) 1928 stock to fit to it, it simply was not finished in time Nothing was wrong with the weapons at all, we also did tell people they were airsoft and many of the reeactors thought they were phenominal, again many compliments and iquiries about the BAR for sale and the airsoft Springfield. GyreenGreen, yeah lol thats a USMC issued stamped 1942 orange, it was used early on in the pacific war to eat lol. Yeah, we had some frech fruit there to eat and put it with our rations and mess kits....which we ate our rations and only had an orange left by the end of the day lol TommyGunner

A little note on the WWII Orange. It was originall a WW1 Grapefruit that was USMC depot modified into an orange. They are very rare & very expensive. ;D
