Over at arnies, in the news section, there's a thread by a regular poster about his tour of Chinese airsoft factories. (Is it cool to link to other forums?)
According to him, AGM (the MP40 company) is coming out with full steel/wood MP44s and MG42s soon. No pictures though. Rejoice?

Well, he said AGM wouldn't let him take any pictures, but it should be coming out in a couple of months. Judging from how people reacted to his post, he seems to be a pretty reliable source, and he did have pictures of prototypes from other factories.
I suck at waiting.

We can all hope and ...wait...I can afford to wait as I have very little money right now.

The MP44 is unnecessary as we already have too many full auto Germans with the availability of cheap MP40s. What we really need is a cheap springer K98!

I have heard the same rumor now for about six months and a few other "projected" new products. I think there is a grain of truth to them and am really looking forward to any new WW2 functional, skirmishable weapons but like others I am not going to hold my breath until it happens.
It's really not a case of when as much as it is a case of how soon, how much and how good?

Oh Crap, just when I was about to buy the CMO35, now I don't know if I should wait or not... Because I would kill some cute furry woodland animal to get my hands on an MP44 or MG42. Well, I'd probably kill some cute furry woodland animal anyways, but still.

2nd Bat: You told me once that someone you knew who was reliable reported seeing MG34 AEG's on an assembly line in China and that was probably about a year ago. Not saying this reflects badly on you, just suggesting that these sort of rumours seem to have become commonplace and entirely unreliable.

There is no question that airsoft is filled with rumors and "Insider" information and we've all seen the pictures of pending products that seem to take forever to hit the marketplace. (If they come at all) I know China is filled with under the table deals and pay offs and government winks and special favors for many of these companies. Airsoft guns according to this same friend are totally a disallowed item in China both to own and manufacture (Mainland China) In essence according to him they are all tasitly condoned black market. In addition I hear many of the manufacturing companies who tool up for a given product are suddenly lured into a completely different production schedule with a seemingly unrelated industry. It wouldn't be unusual for an airsoft gear manufacturer to find itself making power window assemblies for automobiles.
The bottom line is don't hold you breath on new manufacturers or new products. I was convinced by two different sources that a all metal Grease gun was coming out imminently so I sold my beloved Grease gun AEG (Made by Schmitty) about eight months ago and I have to say I miss it terribly.

Get a grip! That original rumored post stating that AGM would have them out in a couple months is dated AUGUST of 2005! These things are worthless rumors until a product is actually out and on a web site with a price and delivery date or in a shop. We can all dream of course but clearly that's all it is at this point.
He says emphatically hoping to be proven wrong and made to look like a fool!

Ya sure? The one I'm looking at is dated June 5th 2008. Are you thinking of that old MG-34?

Calm down 2nd Bat! It was a simple question about a topic that many of us have been waiting around for an answer to for quite some time now. I am aware of how unreliable many of these rumors can be, but we did get the D-Boys Kar98 did we not? Like you said, I guess we all have to continue to dream for now, but I still do see the MG42 and the MP44 as likely additions to the growing list of china guns and as such would like to know about any information related to the process of making them a reality.

It should really come as no suprise that AGM is developing these guns; after all, this is the same company that made a MP40 AEG more or less from scratch. Personally, I am cautiously optimistic about these reports.

I bought one of the 98s just for using in a springer conversion. Maybe you guys can, but i couldn't get the bolt in! I decided to ditch the plastic stock and get a new one....

Blitz, there are plenty of resources for springer K98 conversions, but I'd suggest seeking them out in the K98 threads.

I wasnt asking, just replying to Ian's post. I was referring to the Kapowwe gun where it says bolt action not working right.
On topic- I sent a message to the owner of Gunnerairsoft.com to see whether or not there is any truth to these rumors.
