I saw it 12:00AM opening night and it was fantastic. I give it best movie of the summer, no, the year! Heath Ledger was amazing in this film. He took depressants as well as sleeping pills for his roll in The Dark Knight. Also, he was told by professionals to think of disturbing images to get him into his twisted roll.
Again, amazing movie and cast.

I saw it at 1201 am on the 18th and it was packed... the showings were sold out till saturday afternoon, and multiple screenings were being held at the theater. Took me an hour to get out of the damned place after the movie ended.
As for Heath, his character journal would probably be an interesting read, as i heard he really really got into character. Also, watching some interviews with him, after the filming ended, you can really see just how messed up he is. He is shaking, and is easily distracted, and stutters quite often. -Cary

Great movie, I thought it was a bit long though.
I think his shaking, etc was in large part to the tremendous amount of drugs he was taking.

I thought that was the best part. Him shaking, stuttering, and licking his lips really got me focused on how insane the joker was suspose to be, Jack Nicholson was a good Joker, but Heath was The Joker. He went all out for this role and it literally killed him.

I'd have to disagree there....
The old campy Batman show was...well campy and a joke. The new darker Dark Knight is more inline with the comics not the originals and I am with you there but I just find the new dark anti hero Batman to be more satisfying.

Hey to each his own. I grew up in the 70's watching the original Batman tv show so that is the Batman I know & love. I was never a fan of the "dark" Batman.

I'm with you Jeff I grew up on the original series as well, But once I started reading the comic books where they changed it from the old batman to the new dark brooding Batman. I dunno it just clicked for me. I like the personal conflict. It isn't so cut and dry but like you said to each their own right.

Just got back from seeing it. Thought it was a great movie, but a little long.
Heath Ledger was amazing.
