no offense, but that just strikes me as weird. Not the thing most people think to steal when breaking into a home. They usually go for easily carried electronics, cash and jewelry.
I too hope they catch them, and you can get some of it back. Keep an eye out on ebay. I know someone who caught the guy by seeing his own stuff on ebay and reporting it one time

I am sorry to hear that. Man that is a big misfortune. I hope they get caught. They have probably watched you for a while and realized how much stuff you had. It is odd though, you'd never think people would steal your old army gear.

Damn that sucks, actually military items being stolen from a home is not as uncommon as you think, Your lucky you didn't have any real firearms amongst the groupings. I've read alot on military collecting forums that guys get stuff stolen, alot of times its medals , or firearms. I hope they get these guys, and yeah again watch out on ebay. -Nick

Odds are the fellow has some affiliation with Airsoft or living history and knew what he was getting and where he might sell it. I have a good friend who lost over 20,000.00 in an Airsoft gear buglary and while the fellow was ultimately caught most of the items weren't recovered.
This fellow was always amazingly generous with his gear and supported local airsoft events famously. The whole event soured him to airsoft and he never got back into it. This selfish thief (who is currently in jail (thankfully) Hurt the local airsoft scene more than he will ever know. We all miss Big Adam and would love to see him get back into the sport.

On an even sadder note, the thief or thieves will probably turn out to be someone that you know and has seen your stuff. I used to be proud of all my stuff and loved to show it off, but it is all locked safely in it's own room and out of visitors view now. When we built our new house, I had a part of the basement built specifically to house my collection.

that really unfortunate, good thing you have pictures of almost everything, for insurance or identification reasons.
I had stuff stolen once, we caught the person who was an out of his mind dumbass silly pony that pretty much everyone hated even before the robbery. good luck! -Gordak
