You can't swing a dead cat around here without hitting another SS group! BTW,why only M42 helmets??? M35's and M40's were used all through the War.Same for the M42 tunic, and plane tree specific smock.Do a little bit of research, look at books, pics, etc. It's amazing the info you'll find with a little bit of effort.

Wow, got anything positive to say? It says appropriate gear, not ONLY GEAR ALLOWED. These guys know there stuff and do plenty of research. I was just trying to give a bump for some friends, not look for insults.

Not insulting anything,I just like to see impressions done correctly.Stating this helmet or that tunic instead of any correct German helmet or tunic seems kinda odd to me that's all.I've seen too many BAD impressions in my over 20 years of reenacting that could've been prevented if people did just a little bit of research.

Alright, that's cool. I didn't mean to seem nasty about that, I just was suprised by your post. Good impressions are what this is all about. Without a good impression what's the point right???

I just like to do it RIGHT! I've done the dreaded SS before, and got out of it because too many were getting into it,and making a mockery out of it,and giving everyone doing SS a bad rep.

I know there WAS a 12th SS that does regular reenacting in CA.Saw them in a militaria magazine years ago. They looked like they stepped right out of a book they looked so good! Full auto weapons, vehicles, they really looked sharp!
