My UHC M-1911 Spring Pistol came today. Here is the review. (Footnotes indicate pictures located on the bottom of post):
Apperance
Upon opening the box[1], you have the manual and Warnings. When you take that off, you have the pistol [2] and the little box of BBs. I heard that the gun was plastic, but it was cold to the touch, and felt like metal. I am pretty sure it's metal, but don't take my word for it. The handguard is a little bit shiny - like glitter - but that's not too noticable. The magazine[3] (which is in the gun, so don't go looking) is softer, and has five zig-zagging holes in it, like the original. The gun looks excellent, and without the orange tip, would fool most people.
Apperance: 10/10
Performance
This pistol works very well. It is light, and the sights[4] are good, but they are hard to sight in quickly because of there size. The bolt [5] can cock back with having to actually cock the gun, making this pistol good for theatrical purposes or dry fire. The sound is a loud, hollow 'pop!'It sounds very nice, and the loading sounds real as well.
Now, on to the actual Performance. It fires straighter with the .2 gram BBs than the included .12 gram BBs. Like any other gun, the BBs curve occaisonally in the wind.
Performance: 9/10
Maintnence
It does not come with any cleaning material. As any airsoft gun, it doesn't take much to 'maintain'. It has never jammed on me. Just make sure not to 'over-cock' it. That is about it for this category.
Maintnence: 10/10
Cost
I bought this on a holiday special from ShortyUSA.com, so I got maybe $10.00 off. However, I got the pistol, an extra magazine and 2-Day Air for under $50.00! Defintely worth it!
Cost: 10/10
Appeal
Despite all of these good things, it does capture the WWII Feeling. The box is really the only thing, as well as the only thing that counts. Unlike the Thompsons, it is a modern box. This is not a big deal, but if you plan to box it up for events, you may disappointed.
Appeal: 1/4
Final UHC 1911 Spring Score: 40/44

Hope you enjoyed!
EDIT: Some of the pictures were huge and I couldn't fix.
