This is the same, but directly to the Bundesarchiv site. Once there type in Bild 101 in the search bar, followed by whatever year you what to look through. It look me a few months to look through all of the pictures! www.bild.bundesarchiv.de/

Damn, that's awesome. Anyone else catch the turret swap on the Tiger I? Too cool. That cries for a diorama. Nice find, CharleyNovember!

Wow!! What a find!! Thanks CN!!!! I have been looking for an hour!! Wow!! There are photos from everywhere!! I have never seen so many photos of Germans with full beards. Even a Major General sporting one. The photos of that strange barge being loaded in Yugoslavia too. I just ran across this one and thought it was interesting. A Heer Panzer Officer wearing an SS Plain Tree Panzer wrap. The photo is in Russia in June of 43.

I am almost positive the machine gun in question is an Italian Mo.35.
One can see them again in photo 101I-005-0015-25. That is so cool Bundesarchiv donated these pictures. Even better is the fact they do not have the Bundesarchiv copyright image scrolled across them anymore! I have thought the Polizeieinsatz in Yugoslavia pictures are some of the most interesting since first seeing these on the bundesarchiv site. Some of the pictures show Gebirsjager in conjunction with the Polizeieinsatz making a partisan sweep through a Yugoslav village. I think the Gebirsjager might be from the 1st Gebirgs Division, which was in Yugoslavia and the Balkans during 1943-1944. I have also wondered if the Polizeieinsatz, in the photo, were attached to the 4th SS Polizei Division.

This site is a goldmine of information. And..it's probably going to drive some of the more anal retentive, stitch-nazi types crazy. ;D ;D EX: SS officer with Splinter parka.

If I had to guess I'd say the rifles in question are AT rifles. The photos are wonderful in that they show what I have been expousing for years now. In combat men do whatever is expedient in the way of uniforms and equipment and if it was available it was used. Impressions of course should vie for the combinations and mixes that are most representative BUT the all too frequent phases such as ALWAYS and NEVER and Flaggrantly Wrong are vastly overused and destructive to our hobby.

"That isn't just any plain ol ,SS officer , that's OTTO SKORZENY people. "
What a FARB. The real Otto Skorzeny would NEVER have worn Heer camo. Everyone knows SS men ALWAYS wore SS camo. The authenticity officer in his unit must be a real slacker. ;D ;D
