Does anybody have a clue of what the USMC wore during the Korean War, particularly at the Chosin Res?

Damn, that musta been a hell of a battle. I'd recommend the book The Last Stand of Fox Company to you, its an amazing story of Marines holding out against incredible odds during the Chosin campaign.

Only sad thing about the korean war is that there's hardly any info on koreans Like right now i'm trying to find info on the ROK units and maybe start building an impression. And theres still hardly any info on they'er stuff. Gear, uniforms, etc. even on they'er modern gear. Only info i can get is them in vietnam.

ROK troops where issued the gear , uniforms and weapons that the US troops got , TAE GUK GI is a good movie about the war from the ROK point of view.

Yeah, 29:1 and the Army written them as "lost". The Marines made it out after being surrounded and destroyed 7 enemy divisions in the process. Semper Fi!
I figure that I could basically do two impressions at once, since they basically got issued the same stuff as in WWII.

The wools you're wearing are 1951 pattern right? Were they issued to both the Army and Marine Corps?

Adler's correct, the RoK was mostly issued U.S. gear throughout the war, and if you go for a KATUSA impression than most all of your kit should be from US stocks. For a very early war impression though you might add a couple of WWII Japanese pieces of field gear and equipment left over from the occupation. Side Note - Here's a couple of pictures of my grandfather at his aid station, and with some friends. In the first two pictures they appear to be wearing US M37 wools, or class C's, and in the last picture M43 or M51 jackets, fatigue caps, and some kind of other shirt (possibly USMC?).

Hey, not trying to jack your thread but... does anyone know of any websites that have a list or something of korean military divisions and such? I'm trying to start a new impression but, this time of an ROK soldier.
