i was watching the military channel the other day, top 10 tanks or something, and it said there is only one operational panther tank in the whole world- somewhere in sweeden or something- that would be a big motovator for me, maybe it will work for our panther owner, if he doesnt already know, hes the last of the dying breed-

If we had the Real only Panther at this reenactment, we would have more than 50 peopel attending..... And the probability of the only one ever comeing across the wide open sea to be in our little reenactment is very slim... its probaly ina museum, its not going anywhere.. But it would be neat to see that hing up close.... -Tyler

if the panther is not a "real" panther... what is it? are we talking like a rusty car with a plywood box around it? or like a 3/4 model? as far as airsoft is concerned, its the same, im just curious...

Gerry, are you going to have sandbags for use at the field? Or would you like, do you mind, if Sean and I to bring some sandbags? I’ll talk to Sean first to see if that is possible. However, I think depending on how the games are going to be run… I’d like some good cover using that MG-34.

Mccallion(Brian), Panzer Greanadier(Mike), Don and myself got out to ground zero today to promote Rhineland! We answered any impression questions, Displayed 4 different WWII impressions, gave out some flyers and Skirmished with the modern airsofters! Many of whom were very interested in the event. We had a great day, the weather was perfect and we had a great guide! We hiked the entire perimeter of the 58+ acres primarily to find locations for both camps which we did. Here are some photos of the day. This will be the spot for the GI camp the rock you see on the left is an end of a massive mound which will overlook the approach to the camp sorta of an OP Mccallion sitting atop said OP looking down Looking up at said OP This is the forward approach to the German Campsite Some photos of our Hike through the field to get an Idea of the terrain Skirmishs at the end of the day, this area will be designated the Siegfried line and will be the core of a lot of Objectives, we will be doing work on it in the coming weeks If anyone is local to ground zero it is an awesome place to skirmish! I am looking so forward to this event! Thanks Brian, Don and Mike for coming today! -Gerry

Wow, the Field looks pretty flat. Wish it was that flat up here in Maine, then again the more hills the more places to hide

This spot up here, above the main Firebase, gets fully surrounded by a strange green bamboo style plant. (Please excuse my lack of botanical knowledge.) In past VN events we have used this for the .50 cal position (provided by the great Big Ed). Many Victor Charles have been killed from atop that lookout. Good memories. Can't wait to see the field from the eyes of 1945. It is a great place in '69, so I am sure it will fare well in the forties. Here are a few pics: Gordak filling a sandbag atop the .50 cal position (Much different with the brush): Here's another from the same lookout. Unfortunately that is me in the parachute boonie expired off on the left. At least I got that one Mr. Charles before his brothers got me!

!UPDATE! There will be portable electricity at the field to charge batteries
There will be a modern camping area at the front of the field. So you can use your modern camping gear if you do not wish to play at night, get chilly or wanna get some shuteye I got to talk to Lester, the field owner for a bit yesterday and he confirmed this(electricity) for me.

That is excellent idea to have a modern camping Site that way we can keep modern gear out of the period campsite. Let's keep the 1945 campsite as authentic as we can make it. if you have to run to McDonald's then use the modern campsite. You gentlemen that are planning this are doing an excellent job and I will be doing my part to promote this event at my local Air Soft Field. Thank you again for your hard work.
