Alright, So I do not have much. I have roughly somewhere between $100-$300, and I would like to get my gun before anything else. To not completely blow my cash on something, I am thinking of an M3. Any suggestions?

M3A1 Grease Gun? My humble opinion is that I would consider gathering just a bit more cash (for shipping costs) and getting the M1A1 Thompson- being electric, it will serve you well all year around and as many have said, it may be Tokyo Marui's best made weapon. Full auto or single, and close to 300fps out of the box- hard to beat . www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.php?itm=TM-AEGWBC-M1A1_cat_Marui%20AEGs%20WBCNow the other gun I would recommend based on that budget, but with a disclaimer that this is a wee bit more of an 'advanced' weapon- only because it is a 'single shot' so it requires a bit more 'head in the game' tactical sense to be successful with, is the Marushin M1 Carbine. That gun would be in your price range as well. The only reason I suggest these weapons over the M1A1 Grease Gun is that the blowback mech on the Greaser is somewhat 'sensitive' and demands only HFC134a Gas and even then can be troublesome- so I wouldn't want you to invest $200 in a gun and have it not perform. The Thompson will shoot everytime you pull the trigger....well after the battery is charged and be very reliable for you- so that you will have a solid weapons system and then you can start on the rest of your gear.- The M1 Carbine would as well, but being a gas gun, it's not optimal during the winter months.....unless you live in Miami or Tucson and winter means that a 'cold snap' is 70 degrees -G

I understand. Never liked the Thompson too much, though I think I could go with that. I'll probably get the gun and buy my gear piece by piece. For all of my gear, uniform, et cetera, what should I invest in first?
Problem is, I have a very wide foot. Unfortunately for me, not many companies make WWII era wide shoes.

Yeah- the shoes could be a problem- reminds of the scene in Band of Brothers where Toye is in the Ardennes forest without shoes and the medic 'Doc Rowe' asks him what size boot he wears- "You know Doc, Size 9 just everybody else" As for the uniform- you actually have a few options- Army/Navy surplus- I just bought a pair of light OD, almost pretty near 'khaki' fatigue pants made by 'Ultra-Force' for $20 bucks brand new from my local army navy store- The only real draw back to them is they have 2 extra small cargo pockets down by the end of the leg- but that is hardly noticable unless you get someone trying to figure out if they are real m43's or something. Target stores- I don't know if you guys have Target where you are, I think they have conquered the nation by now- I also don't know how old/big you are, but they have a great pair of OD green cargo pocket pants with very good copies of the OD plastic buttons in the young teens clothes section for like $13 bucks- I believe they had up to size 18. They also have right now a reasonable OD green jacket that is a pretty good fake m41 jacket with the exception that it has a left breast small zipper pocket- but with web gear its hardly noticable- I picked one up closeout in the mens section for $10 bucks. The third option I would suggest, and it's not first because I don't know if he's been 'picked clean' yet, but a very good friend of mine and the WW2AA forums here, 2nd Bat is selling a pretty darn complete uniform set including steel pot with net for around $70 bucks with shipping- now that by far is the best deal going right now, but if he has any left you would need to act fast as they are going like hotcak......ok, no worn-out cliches they have been going fast, but last week he still had a few sets- He is completely out of the leggings for these, but those aren't that hard to find still. I believe he is bundling (Correct me where I'm wrong John )a m41 repro jacket, a wool shirt, wool pants , and the helmet in the set. The last option I would offer my well be the best as far as authenticity and representing a good value for ya, it's the WW2AA forums very own Capt Zak- He has close to 'reference quality' American, German, Russian gear available at very good prices considering the quality. So there ya have it- 4 options for you varying by the amount of time and money you have to play with. -G

Ok, I figured it out and I am doing this. I found my wool shirt I have m1941 suspenders i am buying a pair of "wool trousers" from 2ndbat until i grow into my other ones. I have 1960's para boots that i can fit leggings over, they look just like the service boots with leggings. and i have a pistol belt. And i will buy a thompson considering that is a uniform under 100 bucks.
and I can get a good m1 helmet liner set for about 40-so bucks.

I have calculated the cost, sans rifle, and it comes out to roughly $600 USD. I am fortunate enough to have inherited a Real M1 Garand that can fire blank rounds, though due to my age, I cannot participate in that sort of re-enacting yet. Here is what I was thinking on the shoe issue.
Since I wear anywhere from a 9-11, and my foot can fit into a regular wide shoe and a normal shoe if I am fortunate, I will probably buy a shoe that is two sizes too large and wear that, as I have a lot of luck with those.
I am still stuck on the gun issue, though I am certain that an M3 is out of the question, though it'd be nice if there was an electric version. So, I will probably end up buying the Thompson or something. I was also able to get another person interested in WWII Airsofting in my AP English class, so I suppose I am making some headway.
Any unit ideas? I will definately not be doing any of the following:
101st 82nd Rangers in General FSSF Anything that is "really" popular
I know, I am strange, but almost every other person I have seen is a part of some famous unit. I just wanna have some normal grunt unit, leaving the rest to others.

OH LORD!
Too late to buy that Thompson now, I just got an M3 in the mail, with an extra magazine also. I fired it and it is good, so that's a plus, and it is a heavy-weight. So, now I can start working on that impression. Great thing is, it could double for my growing Viet-Nam impression.

An interesting unit that I'm surprised no one has done is the ETOUSA force. It was the original European HQs before SHAEF and was relegated into a special support force for the European HQ once SHAEF was formulated. As a result it performed rear eschelon duties for the most part but also trained and provided special operations units. You may know the patch from the movie "The Dirty Dozen" It is a Blue Oval with red lightening bolts, golden chains and a circle star up at the top.
