What is the best way to stain a AGM Stg-44 stock? I started sanding it down a little, what's my next step?

bang it up and use black shoe polish with one of those sponge aplicators the wipe it off... before you sand it... too late.

The black shoe polish works very well. I did it to mine, and it came out really nice.

It works great and when I get more scratches and dings I just re-apply.

Fusilier... Show us! Please!!!
I went light with my kiwi shoe polish finish. It probably looks better sanding the edges first like you did.

I did some work to my STG , removed the crappy orange stain from the stock and applied a stain to it , then used wax to darken it a little , i will repeat the waxing on it at least 5 or 6 more times to get nice and dark. I then ran a very fine grit sandpaper all over the body to get some of the paint of the body , it turned out ok.
