Alrighty then, so I've been looking around and I like the old used Canteens, however I was wondering if anyone know where to get a new one that is a replica, simply because half of them I have seen aren't really fit to drink out of. Any ideas?
Secondly, I know they exist, but do you know where to get a model pack of some Lucky Stikes?

Not fit to drink out of?
If there is rust in it, you can get rid of it, I had to with mine.

Well, there are some products that can neutralize rust, I cant remember what I used tho, I think at one time, as funny as this sounds, I had put some Coke in it and let it sit for a day, because as we all know that coke has that whole acidic thing going on. I figured it might eat the rust away! Then Tom gave me some stuff that neutralized/got rid of rust, I had that in there for a while, then when All was said and done, I had cleaned out the canteen with dish soap and water for like 3 days strait, filling it up with ALOT of soap and some water, shaking the hell out of it. The stuff Tom gave me was in the orange spay bottle, it was for like household stuff.

they are galvanized, so they rarely rust, finding one that is not rusted should be easy. but there is probably some lead content LOL I use ww2 canteens all the time. as Caligula said... "Gods don't get lead poisoning" -Gordak

righto guys. This is why I ask my Guy on a short bused questions here, because I get good answers in return. I might have a decent idea of what that stuff was Mills, so I'll just play around. Thanks a bunch *and more importantly, I found the lucky Strikes!*

I've cleaned dozens of old canteens which I obviously drank from later. I used a bottle brush. (You're probably all too young to remeber bottle brushes for milk bottles) but you can still buy them at stores in the cleaning section. Obviously you'll want to run lots of water through the canteen to flush out the detergent and what ever and ultimately pour and slosh around boiling hot water to kill any bacteria.
As mentioned above rust doesn't seem to be a chronic problem at all even with the old WW1 era canteens. I used to carry spare BBs in an extras cnateen I carried but it was way to noisy once partially empty. I now carry extra BBs in a wool sock.

That's all fine and dandy-
But I'm still going to use the water-bladder-in-the-gasmask-bag trick ;D that way I get more hydration and can take it off w/o looking out of uniform.

How about the Brit canteens. I've got one but it has some rust on the inside, enough so that I never want to actually use it. Is there a way I can neutralize the rust, remove it an' effectively seal it so it can be used..or should I not bother an' buy a brand new one for 25?

If $25 is all it costs, the chemicals would cost you that much....I would assume it would just be easier to buy a new one.

add some some small nuts and bolts to your cleaning mixture...they will act to scour out the inside of the canteen as you shake it up....worked well for my canteens.
