I believe this is the correct section to post a question like this under, if it is not then please move it to its appropriate location.
As some (or many, since I never shut up about this) of you may already know I am in search for an airsoft version of the Arisaka Type-99 rifle. However, this leaves me with something of an issue: I am among the only WWII airsofters I am aware of that lives anywhere close to me, and the only airsoft group worth mentioning in my area consists almost entirely of people with modern weapons. An iron-sighted bolt action rifle is going to have a hard time standing up to premium brand M4's and G36's. If a sniper scope was available for it, however, it would stand a much better chance of being legitimately useful to the team I am on.
I am aware that there the Type-99 rifle did have sniper scopes available for it in spite of the straight, 90 degree bolt. However, I just came across one in an online gun auction (that ends today) and the high bid for it is $3,500. This leaves me with the impression that real ones aren't exactly easy to find. As far as I am aware the Type-97 sniper rifle would costs even more, far too much to take apart and convert to an airsoft weapon (although KTW did make a type-97, the only place I can find it is WWIIguns.com).
This is my question for all of you; is there a way for one to construct their own custom made Type-99 sniper scope? (it jets off to the left-hand side, the Call of Duty depiction of it is actually accurate). Of course, it would need the bizarre crosshairs to go with it, it can't be Japanese unless its needlessly strange

OR! I heard that there was a way to attach a regular Kar 98k scope to an Arisaka by replacing the anti-aircraft sights, but I lost the webpage that I thought instructed how to do this. Is this possible as well?
As always, thank you for your help.
Oh yeah, and here's the auction for the scope.
