I dunno if you want to paint the truck OD, that's a lot of spray paint cans you'll be going through ;D On the other hand, that looks amazingly sweet, so does the gun swivel on all axes? And how easy is it to mount/dismount? I kind of want to do something like my jeep, but i have no good gun to mount there (now to buy some more airsoft guns

It's super easy to dismount, it just pulles straight up about 5 inches and it is out. It swivles about 180 around... could go farther but you'd have to climb on the hood... ha ha. I was going to make it mount in the middle of the bed so it could swivle 360, but the gunner would have no cover, this way, they have the cab for cover, also I was going to build a plywood blast shield to go over the barrel.
I rattle canned my land cruiser and it took about 6-8 cans of paint. My finger was SO sore.

What themed game did you use it in?

Haha, awesome.

Hell yeah! My '83 'Yota has been a dedicated technical for a couple of years now. I made a turret ring that mounts to the kayak rack I built for the bed, all I need to do now is finish the rolling block and it will have a .50 BMG on it. Do you have anything to cover the grill opening? A lucky shot CAN put a hole in the radiator.

Yikes, I hadn't thought of the radiator. We took off the mirrors and I'm not too worried about the windows. I don't think an airsoft gun is going to be able to break auto glass, and even if a window breaks we have extra at home. But the radiator is something I overlooked. Might have to rig up some cardboard "ammor" for the grill. I was going to build some plywood sides to extend the bed up a little, give more protection to the rear gunners. Kinda hald track like, high sides but still open. I thought hard about using the camper shell and cutting a hole in the top and making a turret, however desided this was more practical for a part time technical.

Go to a junkyard for a camper lid, at least where i am, there are quite a few with cracks in them (usually in the top or one of the windows) and since it might be shot anyway, well, who cares? Just saying that, as it might be easier to remove/put on. Also, for the armor, maybe, if you can, get your hands on some mesh like for goggles, as that really wouldn't impede airflow, while providing protecting, but cardboard (depending where you place it) could stop air from cooling the radiator, giving you some problems.

I was also thinking about some kind of mesh. Perhaps window screens? Although I'm sure an airsoft bb would crash right through a window screen it would probally slow it enough to protect the radiator. I'll mess with it this weekend and see if we can some up with something. I have a lot of junk plywood laying around to rise the sides of the bed. I think it will work out nicely. My girlfriend took the truck home this week (110 today in Sac, no AC in the truck, she's nuts), so I don't have it to work with. It'll be back at my house after this weekend and should start getting some ammor enhancements.

Finally! It was dead at work today, so I got ambitious. Heheh. Here's a quick vid of the roller in action. Coming to an insurgency near you! ;D

That is sexy. I'm not going to lie, I'm actually drooling a bit right now. I sold my 1919 so our Jihad truck is lacking some firepower right now. Did you design the roller yourself? I'd love to build one for her truck... or even for my land cruiser. Do you have any close ups of the rollers?
PS Where do you work, looks like a very nice shop.

I did in fact design it myself, though it is not my best work. If the ring were a perfect circle it would work a lot smoother, but making a circle by hand out of a piece of 1/4"x2"x10' steel is trickier than it seems. Right now it just sits on top, but my original idea was to have rollers on top and bottom. However I compromised on how I mounted the ring, making this impossible. I may still re-work that. I will probably go work on it more tomorrow, I'll grab you some close shots of the roller block.
It's an owner/operator auto shop, and yes, I love it. It's the boss, me, and one other guy. And the boss' hands get as dirty as mine.

Man Shady, your truck is rapidly becoming the SdKfz 250 of the MAA. You already have the MG and mortar variants, now you just need a small cannon or Alias mount to complete the set. Then you can add claymore mounts or an array of M203 shells to the sides for use against close assaulting infantry.

I am thinking about doing the Jihad thing to my 69 Chevy C/20 long bed truck.
