Oh of course. One of the most frequent times I light up a buddy when we both turn the same corner from opposite directions. Then I have to make the quick decision of "it's him or me" as I think he's an enemy. So he goes down. Then it turns out he wasn't. It's all fast paced and sometimes I got too itchy of a trigger finger.

Great start! Can you post larger pictures? It's hard to see some of the details. I'm not sure about the puttees because I only wear sapogi, but they look a little loose, maybe the fabric is too stiff. Swap the postwar Mosin pouches for one (late war) or two (early war) of these: www.frontowiec.com/index.php?p2933,ladownica-na-naboje-do-mosina-skorzana Add a canteen too, this is the correct type (out of stock unfortunately): www.frontowiec.com/index.php?p2954,manierka-z-pokrowcem-niemalowana What do you have in your veshmeshok?

You could try a RGD-33 pouch or gas mask bag, I think that would be big enough to store the gas can. Rounds in a speed loader could go in a reserve Mosin pouch, or the same pouch or bag as the gas can. If you carry your rounds loose you could make small paper or cardboard bundles of about ten rounds and put those in your Mosin pouches.
It's fine if your veshmeshok doesn't look full, they didn't have a whole lot of stuff to put in them. In my veshmeshok I store my food for the day, extra canteens, spoon, knife, messkit, spare cloth, extra buttons, etc. I have a small sewing kit (thread wrapped around a bit of cardboard and a few needles) stored in my pilotka.
You could also add a shinel (greatcoat), a collar liner to your M35, and a SSh40 helmet.

I have been looking for a greatcoat but I have had a hard time finding one any suggestions on where to find one?

Here's a pic of me at Operation Take Back this past weekend. Im halfway between infantry and airborne as I was originally gonna do airborne but later down the line decided on infantry. Hopefully one day my kit will be worthy of the stich nahtzees thread.

Very nice kit so far! I'd just like to note that your sling is on backwards. The metal clip goes on the rear swivel.

Thank you for the compliment. You would be right but it's an ak sling with leather strips on both ends of the sling. I still need to get a correct one.

Oh! Whoops! When you do get around to getting a M41 jacket or M43 jacket, try picking up the Kerr thompson sling. Repros aren't that expensive, and they are much quicker to adjust than the rifle slings.

One cautionary note about Thompson Airsoft guns and slings is that the Marui and Marui clone Thompsons have a notorious weak point right where the barrel meets the receiver group and with frequent use of a sling they tend to break. The pressure is somewhat reduced by slinging the gun reversed (muzzle down) which interestingly is the correct way to sling a Thompson anyway.

I agree. There has definitely been a nice up tick in the overall level of authenticity with our members impressions and its really nice to see.

Here are a couple pics from airsofting today. I am going for a infantry nco impression as I don't do reenactment or living history and my airsoft team is pretty mellow on uniform requirements. Still need my m41 jacket and to decide on a unit or just use my airsoft team patch as my unit. I have a couple questions for the more knowledgeable guys on here. Is the 1912 holster I have blatantly wrong or were these available for private purchase. Were N.C.O.s the only guys who got tommys?

The Cavalry holster would have been fairly rare ( as were pistols frankly) but not so much so as to be silly to have. Any weapon could end up with any soldier as with attrition the adoption of orphaned weapons was a common occurance.
The Thompson in a regular line Infantry Unit would be by design the assigned weapon for a squad leader but were much more widespread in Airborne Units, Rangers and Cav units. (motorized reconnaissance units). Your holster and Thompson would be quite appropriate for a cav depiction even if you weren't an NCO. For a CAV unit, based on pictures a Windcheater (tanker jacket) or Mackinaw would be as common as an M41.
I think you look great. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome! love the HBt. Both the OD and the duck hunter. Really appreciate the camo skrimmed helmets (practiced commonly with the 2nd Armored) and the assortment of pouches as well.

The other players loved our impressions! We were really happy with how they turned out. And we blended in quite well, better even than some of the modern camo according to some players. The extra bags were quite handy. I had my musette bag for extra ammo and such while Patrick carried his entrenching tool on his suspenders in place of his musette bag, his kit was already heavy enough. Tying the entrenching tool to the suspenders was rather widespread in the 41st.

My US Army impression. Haven't really decided which specific unit I want to be yet. Here I'm just trying to be the a run of the mill Soldier, the average GI. I know the pouches are wrong, but its all I had and I didn't learn of this forum in time to know the difference in Thompson mag pouches. Some pics from Desert Fox Fields in California: Me and my team mate who does modern Army impressions. Remember when things were simple with some mag pouches, canteen, a pack and your gun? (side note: I have an eye condition, so I have to wear shades or some sort of tinted lense out doors. Fully aware of the infidelity there, haha). I want to make the switch over to a M1903A4/Sniper load out, but first I have to finish making the M1903A4!

Thanks! I just need to figure out what gear the M1903A4 Sharpshooters used. I'd imagine their stripper clips would fit in the Garand belt pouches, but I'm not too sure if they used that specifically.

Hey, sweet impression Dracul! I've heard of desert fox field I think it's in my area. If you live anywhere near south orange county my team plays at a free field in Huntington Beach every saturday. I'm the only ww2 player at the moment but it would be cool to have more down there. Pm me about it if your interested Here is my latest impression Marine raider It's all army gear besides the p42's but I've heard they got some army gear so it meets my requirements. Open to criticism. GUNG HO raiders!

Looking good.
On the side, I'm actually no longer in Cali. I EAS'd and living back in the North East. Sorry dude, but I definitely know that feeling of being the only WWII guy.

Gosh if you landed in the NE Dracul, you ain't alone no more! Just wish you were working on a Wehrmacht kit. We could use more Germans at the next game.

Well, I'm in Maryland, so not as north east as one might think. Definitely not south enough for GA and FL. Although, I am working on a Wermacht and a Flakhelfer for my wife. Unfortunately, my Wermacht is really bad and has way tooo many post war and somewhat decent looking place ins, and the only thing on the Flakhelfer is a buy list.

Yea, I guess that's on the lower edge of the NE. More like mid Atlantic. But if you ever can get up tworards Albany for one of our games, We got enough loner uniforms and gear so you and yor wife could go German if you wanted. I ain't got a problem with a girl fielding as a soldat, I've been at plenty of Rev war events with women in the line and no one bats a eye and they have pretty high authenticity standards. So in airsoft standards should be a bit loser anyhow, since there s no public show, and we are all still working on our impressions.

I hear you on that, and thanks for the offer. But the wife really wants to do a Corpseman load out, since she is in the Navy. So we will be doing American for a bit, and perfect those, before moving to the other side of the front.

If you and her both are interested in doing US with a corpman impression for her, I have plenty of loaner kit items I could let you use to help you two if you can make it up to a NY event.
