DISCLAIMER: I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS TOPIC IMMENSELY! I HAVE USED BOTH BOOKS AND GOOGLE, AS WELL AS MSN! I HAVE DEVOTED MUCH TIME LOOKING FOR THIS, AND CANNOT FIND ANYTHING!!!! PLEASE HELP ME. THANK YOU.Ok, now that that's out of the way, I want to inquire about the Thompson Chest Rig/ Vest worn by paratroopers on D-Day like the corporal in the photo: i101.photobucket.com/albums/m56/wade_017/brothers-in-arms-road-to-hill-30-20.jpg?t=1164679990Now I know that games are a bad reference, but I know these exist, for I've seen it before, and this was the only photo I could find of this. Now by the looks of this, it's two 5-cell Thompson Pouches, sewed on to M1936 suspenders, but I'm not sure. If anyone has one of these or knows how they are put together, PLEASE TELL ME! I am about to put together my pathfinder kit immanently, AND NEED TO KNOW!!11111 Thank you.

It's not a chest rig or vest. I believe that all that was done were the mag pouches were slid onto the m1936 suspenders. Simple huh?

most of the time i've seen it it was done with the 5 cell pouches but i've wondered ( never seen) it be done with 3 cells. is this because they were just too long and inconveinent or was there really any other reason

I believe they were not issued 3 cells in any significant numbers. I think only armored troops had 3 cells in any large number in the ETO.
